My first mini, both bought and painted, was Ragnor, Male Barbarian about 3 months ago.

It\'s cool to see some of the earlier work of everyone, especially those that are such incredible painters. It shows that there is hope for those of us that are just starting out if stick to it and practice.

I bought a Warhammer Quest Box Set and the Dwarf seemed to be the lucky winner to me. I owuld take a pic but it took a nice little trip through the vacuum cleaner several years ago... After that one it was just a very large series of badly painted models until I actually asked one of the better painters at the local store for some tips about 8 months later lol

first ever mini was a free oblin on the front of the magazine Computer and Video Games......
Then this guy......still own him take him with me when I\'m doing tutorials at my local club always helps people when their starting out to see where you started.. I love the eyes still....:beer:

Mine was 25mm napoleonics by mini figs. i was 11 yrs old (1971) and would spend my 10p dinner money on 1 figure = 6 1/2p and 3 1/2p of chips.
They just filled me with awe, all those painted lead soldiers, I still have them all, they dont seem to get thrown, every time we have a clean out lol

Mine was a Dark Eldar warrior when i was about 12, i used to paint all my mates minis with him! But we were never serious about it or gaming. Then i stopped for years and just last year my brother got back into GW stuff so i got a box of Necron warriors and painted them all in one night!

I started with car and airoplane kits. Then I bought a few minis from reaper for D&D. I dont think I even have those minis anymore I will have to check.

Wait....that Haldir was the first mini you ever painted? If so I believe I speak for everyone on the forums when I say \"you suck!\" Seriously, that mini is incredible. Wonderful work, I am jealous.

My first mini was painted with enamels and was a Ral Partha Cleric. He was true 25mm a mace downward and had a cylindrical helmet.

I hear ya\'. Mine was am old (79?) Ral Partha Men-at-Arms figure. Just about zero detail, and came with a long spear of all things! I bought him to represent a character I was playing in an RPG, and he came 6 to a pack, because RPGing was new and most figures back then were historicals made for the army builder. I traded the extras one at a time to people who had similar extras, and thats how I got my first \'set\'. I painted eyes and a mouth, but the mouth wound up looking like a little \'Hitler\' mustache, so he ended up with the nickname \'Adolf\'. I still have him, and if I ever have use of a digital camera again I will post a (laughable) pic.
