I seem to have cut out music almost entirely recently. Instead I'm listening to lecture series' by various academics about a range of pretty random subjects, which is more entertaining than might be expected. Perhaps it's because I know I won't have an exam at the end of it! World's End Radio (http://worldsendradio.com/) gives me a vaguely regular toy soldier and gaming geekery update. The Bombcast (http://www.giantbomb.com/podcast/) on Giant Bomb is probably my favourite podcast at the moment. It gives me a taste of computer gaming info every week, but more than that, a regular slice of random American culture from folks I find very entertaining.

I'm also playing through It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on Netflix while I paint, so listening to that more than watching it. Wasn't sure I'd like it at first but once I stopped struggling with the fact that each character is a scummy sociopath and instead embraced that part of their character I started to find it pretty amazing. Some of those episodes are total comedy genius.

DR you're my new best friend I think. My fiance woes the day she introduced me to Epica. You see, she doesn't like them all that much, so of course I took to them like a fish to water. That lead to Nightwish, Within Temptation, MaYaN, Diablo Swing Ochrestra, Delain, Dakyra, pretty much any metal band with a female front(wo)man. To her eternal regret LOL.

My music taste is quite big and diverse, I think I'm better off posting the url to my Last.fm account then all the different kinds of genres and artists I listen to in a list right here xD

One thing you shouldn't bother me with is, R 'n B, some kinds of Hiphop(not all), most of the Dutch music(I'm dutch ;)) like the sh*theads from Volendam and most of the 'music' that's popular these days...

Ok sorry, I'm quite the critic when we're talking about music ;P

Some new age-y vocals from Hayley Westenra, Camilla Kerslake, Amy Nuttall, and a classical cross-over by, amazingly enough, Myleene Klass. It's remarkably good.

Mostly the new Nile album along with The Damned, The Misfits, and Accept. But mostly the new Nile album. That and Doctor Who Audio stories. :D

On the way to work, it's Sirius XM chs 2-10 & 51-52. That'd be pop hits, the each decade's music starting at the 40s. Then dance club and electronica. When that gets really boring/bad swithc over to bluegrass, mostly to guarantee I haven't heard those songs a hundred times already.

Out of the car, it's the iPod on the phone. No real definition there. AC/DC is just as likely to butt up against Enya or classical.

I've noticed the older I get, the more eclectic my musical tastes have become. Everything from DeathMetal, to 40's music. I don't do much Rap or Country, but there are some I like of both. Most pop music is gawd awful, but once in a while there are some goodies.

But, however, most of what I've been listening to lately are Books from Audible on my ipod.

Currently being enthralled by 'Game of Thrones'. Good stuff!

OK an Audible HIGH recommendation Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles, excellent funny and lightweight.
And two to seriously miss..
Gene Wolfe's "Shadow of the Torturer" (Sh*t the narrator was so slow and dry that I ended up hating the damn book)
Caitlin R Keirnan "Murder Of Angels" (Poorly written, Angst ridden, Directionless Psuedo-Lesbian Semi-Fantasy)

I've been listening to a lot of post rock/post metal stuff. The French post rock/metal scene is awesome. Really been enjoying things like Alcest, Amesoeurs, and Les Discrets.
