Hi guys and gals quick one here went to the local art shop and they were getting rid of old stock and I came across DecoArt faux glazing Medium now I've heard of Vallejo glazing medium so as it was only a quid I bought it. So the question is has any one come across this before and if so is it any use and what do I do with it ....I could have phrased that better bound to leave my self open to lots of silly suggestions here!

I do not know the chemistry of mediums but I do know that faux = False/Fake hence the cheapness.

Faux medium is used in painting marble and other glazing effects. Craft paint is reduced with this, but binder percentage and flattening agents are maintained vs. Water.

It's sold as a drying retarder for making faux effects as has been said but it is the same as any other medium for making glazes water works fine but after trying this stuff you may like it over good old h2o and for a quid it's not like you put yourself out of pocket when most art shops charge twenty quid for 8ounces of the art deco brand one

I wouldn't use it straight up in reducing paints, maybe 10% in your water. A little retarder and extra binder goes a long way.

will give it a go using those ratios, painting a groto soon so will use it on that for all the different mystic glows. Will report back if it is working ok or not. Thanks for the info much appreciated!
