Whats on top of your monitor?

Hi guys,

I was just sitting here messing with my new camera and snapped a photo of the top of my monitor and that made me wonder whats on your guys monitors? Is it a mini holding station like mine? its kind of funny because I didnt arrange them before I took this and then I noticed the Goblin fanatic launching in on the right.

Let\'s see...some bills, unpaid college parking tickets (w00t!), a white dwarf magazine, and a performance bikes magazine. Hmmm...is that a fire hazard? There is a farseer standing guard over my other monitor...the warhound titan was a much more intimidating \"monitor guardian\" but he\'s in the mail headed to reunite with my old space marine army. Kinda cool how stuff like that works out!

Well, a little pewter dragon holding a crystal ball and a geode (or whatever you call the little rocks with a hollow and crystalline inside...)... Boring, I know, but they were gifts and the dragon just looks so... \"Im soo much better than you\"-ish... sigh...

Directly above is a shelf , my computer sits inside a sort of niche with this type of table , on top of that is my webcam , creative 6.1 speakers , polystone gollum from the LoTR special edition DvD set , a huge godzilla rubber hand puppet , a red dragon , the sauron figure painted up to be my PnP chars Sorc/Dragon disciple (the figure is still a little too short) a painted up Gandalf on Shadowfax , 2 Dragon bookends (that grey stuff , no idea what its called ) , a painted up succubus , a green dragon type thing wrapped around a pillar and last but not least , photo\'s of my four daughters , and thats just the top , you should see the sides , hehehe

as an aside , would anyone know where I could post some piccies free . cheers

well it depends on where im at. if im at my student house then ive got a right motly crew of orks, but if im at home then the cat takes first picks! Actually at the uni house ive got a rope light all tangled round the monitor, its kinda cool at night.

Which one? At home its a clock, R2-D2, and an extremely small Lunar Lander. At work, its a rubber duck, a picture of the GF that I just added, 2 Minnie Balls, A Doc Doom Ambulance, and an Ogre from the Battlemasters set. There are also two snap together plastic Gundums on my desk at work.

Well On my SQUARE* computer moniter. I have a squiggoth, a forgeworld Dragon, a Netherlord, and a small Battle Fleet Gothic army. Now all I need is a squigoth (i\'ll make it myself if I have to), a forgeworld dragon (cool model, but WAAAYYY to expensive), and a BattleFleet Gothic army (I\'ll get one soon enough).

Its interesting to hear whats being placed on monitors. Some of you make me wonder if they need to put a warning on the front not to exceed weight limit.

4 box scale snapfit pre-painted vehicles from Episode I. The Republican cruiser, Sith ship, Trade Federation ship and Droid carrier.

Usually it serves as a display for my latest painted figures. I\'m supposed to look at them, be pleased with myself and want to paint more because I\'m happy with the progress I\'m making.

However, I haven\'t painted in a while. I guess it didn\'t work.

Which computer do you mean? The laptop with a flat screen? Or perhaps the supercomputer (Apple G5) with a flat screen? Or some other computers with flat screens? Or my own computer (with a flat screen, of course )? Or maybe you are talking about the computer from the past, not the future? I mean, the one hidden somewhere in the attic where it collects dust? And no, it doesn\'t have a flat screen.

I have the same on my monitor at work. Spooky.

Here at home, now, the only thing on top of the monitor is the center channel speaker of my 5.1 speaker system. Used to be tons of minis, but they\'ve all moved to the shelves in the corner of the room.

On my flatscreen at work there are two iridescent beanie moitor lizards. On the monitor at home (which is my fiancee\'s), there are a further two beanie monitor lizards and a Baryonyx Walkerii model dinosaur from the Natural History Museum (all mine). Blue tacked to the monitor there is one of John Pettrucci\'s guitar pics (guitarist in Dream Theater) which he gave to Ian at a gig we went to.

At work only fingerprints, as it\'s a laptop.
But in the server room where I seem to spend an inordanate amount of time first thing in the morning, nothing on any of them but around them:- Dust, Control ducumentation, floppy discs, Mounting nuts & bolts for server cabinets, Several springs and a multiplying amount of cable ties, (no matter how many I put back in the storage pot there\'s always more on the monitor shelf next morning. Really weird!)
(And yes our building is supposed to be haunted. We work in the basement of an old converted school which was proportedly used as a morgue during the 1914-18 war).

I have stacked all kinds of stuff on top of my monitor. All though, one time, as the sunlight glared into the room and I absentmindedly tried to tilt the screen.....crash!

But, even though I haven\'t learned I have a \"vampireslayer\" book and a ream of printing paper, and a small jar of leftover Christmas candy that no one seems to want to eat!!

Flat Panel leaves no room for goodies

We just got a new \'puter for home with one of those LCD flat panels, so we can\'t put anything on top. But at work I have one of those Beanie Baby type lizards - it\'s my monitor lizard - lol
