With the medals they normally take 6-9 months to process but as he was in his 90's They agreed to rush it through to make sure he was still alive to receive them. Sadly he's no longer with us and his wife died a few years later aged 101 (nearly 102!). I've still got a copy of his 'memories' with photos on disk which are being passed on to the RAF Museum.

Well, after my first year at uni i told a friend that there was some jobs going at a factory where i lived. He went along to get a job too. He got one, i didnt but he met a nice young lady while working there. Ten years later i got to recount that story at their wedding
