Just out of curiosity, do most of you set aside time to paint or are you more spontaneous about it?

Whenever I geet a chance, if I\'m away at work then I will paint in the evenings otherwise at home when the wife is out at work.

Whenever I feel like it. Flexible work schedules rule ;) But most of the time the time when I feel like it is in the evenings.

I spontaneously set time aside...

Lately, I have been forcing myself to sit and paint (at least at first), after work.

After a few minutes of painting, I really begin to enjoy myself, and the whole evening flies by. It is just that \"getting started\" part that is so tough for me.

I know what you mean. I find it hard to get started sometimes.

Painting is usually the first thing on my mind when I wake up, but I can then go for a couple of hours thinking about it before I actually sit down at the painting table. But then, once I sget started, there\'s no stopping me :). I can paint from early afternoon until late morning (and no, I don\'t work or go to school right now ;))

As soon as I get a job/go back to school, it\'ll change though :( and I\'ll probably paint on evenings and weekends.

I\'ve tried to set a time but it never worked for me. I\'m just not a schedule person who can be creative on pressing a button.

Yeah, I\'m on summer vacation, so I umm....wake up around 1:30, eat, eat more, do some biking, soccer, eat, haul wood, eat, golf, and then paint until 2am or so. :)

I started painting again because it was quiet and I could do it during frequent bouts of insomnia. There isn\'t a whole lot to do when you wake up with a \'ping\' regularly at 4am.
I do it now as a when I get time.
@ nelson you sleep for nearly 12 hours a day enjoy it while you can. I haven\'t slept that long in 10 years or so.
and If you don\'t want us to believe your stereotypical lumberjack picture try to refrain from statements about \'hauling wood\' :D

No option for both

I paint whenever I can find 30 minutes, and I set aside time to paint. As a stalwart member of DC Minipainters (DCMP), we get together once a month for an afternoon to paint, and I also try to paint at once or twice in hour long sessions over the weekend.

Truth be told, I don\'t get enbough time in at the moment because of grad school, but come December, watch out.

Cheers,
jack

Evenings and weekends.

I\'m often thinking about painting, during the day. Actually I tend to think and plan more than i do, I come up with all these ideas for cool conversions and armies, but as I\'m spending all my time thinking about them, I never actually get round to doing them.

I paint full-time, so I\'m always painting during the day. But when I\'m painting my own stuff, I usually do it in the late evening and go until I can\'t see anymore.

If I want to paint for myself, I have to do it at night, but I don\'t always choose to. So I guess it\'s spontaneous, within a framework.
