Hi,

I know my title isn\'t clear l o l, quite mystic I must say lol! But it\'s late here (5 am l o l) so anyway:
I would like to know if you know a website/book that gather Games Workshop Art images in high res, infos on the authors, the sculptors etc. Especially those of W40k?

Also do you know a website/book that has a lot of infos on the history of GW, with pics if possible?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help :)! C u later.

Check out http://www.adriansmith.co.uk/ for one of my favorite GW artists. GW has also put out several art books, but they\'re usually limited run. You may still be able to order some of them. The Adrian Smith book is excellent.

There\'s a new book out this month. \'The Art of Warhammer 40000\'. Sounds like exactly what you are looking for

This book looks very nice :), but I already bought a few years ago the book: Index Exterminatus (i think it\'s called like that). So i would like to know what is in the \"Art of W40k\" since I don\'t really have to buy the same book again but with a different cover ;)

Also, aren\'t Mark Gibbons and Jes Goodwyn sculptors? What does MG sculpts for exemple? Since I know it\'s mainly JG for a lot of figs.

C u :)

Well, I don\'t know exactly about Mark Gibbons, but Jes Goodwyn doesn\'t actually sculpt (afaik), but does the designs for given minis. For example, he did the designs for most of the Space Marines, a couple of the new Necrons and Covenant and Artemis for Inquisitor... to name a few.

Heroes for Wargames

If you want some Ancient GW history look for a book called Heroes for Wargames. This was written back when Citadel and Games Workshop were still different companies.

You can find it used on Amazon and Ebay now and then.

Jes goodwin sculpts, I\'d say he is even the most famous sculptor of Games workshop. He does alot of designs as well. Though he hasn\'t sculpted as much rescently, as he used to (nearly all older Spacemarines and eldars was sculpted by him) focusing mainly of the design of plastic kits. But I\'ve heard he is sculpting the new eldar range.

Mark Gibbons draws. He is one of the few that sign their drawings for GW, as noted he makes the art signed with MG. I don\'t think he is into much of the concepts even, but that is mere speculation. He has made a really great comeback in rescent years, being away from GW several years. For me Gibbons and Karl Kopinski is my favourites, apart from Blanche.

Btw I think Blanche is designing his own miniatureline. Anyone heard anything about it?

Well now I am keen for seeing the new eldar range. Jes Goodwin has long been my favourite sculptor. I love his clean lines and character.

Saw the new art book yesterday; a compilation of book covers, box covers and codex artwork. nothing new to me. Nice to have it in one place, the the quality is patchy IMHO. Rather have a Kopinski collection like the Adrian Smith one........

Jes is definately a sculptor. His primary role (if memory serves) is running plastics development but he still sculpts figures sometimes. And when he does they are usually a joy to behold (I know there\'s a new metal from him later this year that should be worth a look). And, yes, he does do lots of awesome concepts too.

Mark Gibbons is not a sculptor. He\'s an illustrator. Most of his work for GW recently was in conceptual work but I\'m pretty sure he\'s not at GW anymore. I think he\'s doing work for Privateer Press...
