I\'m just curious if anyone happens to know where she is. She was my opponent in the Iron Painter contest over at Wyrd and I fully expected to get my clock cleaned, but she didn\'t post an entry and she hasn\'t been active over there since the middle of last month. I checked here, but it doesn\'t seem like she\'s been active here in a while either, which seems to be a bit unusual for her.

Just wondering if anyone knew anything.

She\'s still alive! Just incredibly busy...between the house and GD entries (which I have been lucky enough to see...perks of being the boyfriend!), work cutting off internet and email privileges and life in general she has just been out of the loop so to speak. Don\'t worry, she\'ll be back...in fact I\'ll call her right now and tell her she\'s missed:D

I was beginning to wonder myself. Stupid work cutting off internet access. They did that to my sister and now she has to come round here to use mine which means I\'m kicked off my own computer. Gr...

Hi guys, I\'m alive.

*sigh*

Ok so what\'s been going on is I had some issues with getting a Demon entry done . . . then I had a business trip come up and I didn\'t get back in until Tuesday night really late and since then it\'s been trying to get back onto a normal sleep schedule and just try to relax. Then some stuff has gone down at work and our internet access from our desks is pretty much prohibited if it\'s not work related.

So, this is my first day of painting in a week but I\'m also trying to take care of some things this weekend because Jeremie is coming to stay with me for a while and if I remember correctly he\'s flying in at the end of this coming week.

Needless to say I\'ve been busy plus I had some issues to hash out with my student loan company. See my loans were in deferrment all last year because I was working on my Master\'s. Well I never got a notification saying my payments were going to start back up again or anything after I graduated so I was naturally waiting for the first bill. Well a couple of weeks ago a bill shows up at the house stating that I missed a month and that I owe for two months plus a late fee. So when I called I was told that the bill for March had in fact been returned to them because it was a wrong address.

I told them that was bogus because I\'ve had an address forward to the house since the end of February plus I\'ve never been late before and I always send extra.

So it took about a week but they waived the late fee but also left me a very snotty message saying this was a one time deal and I can\'t expect this kind of thing to happen and the guy basically made it sound like I was a bum.

So I called back this afternoon and left him a voicemail saying that a) I work for a University so I know how this works and b) the reason I didn\'t know anything was due was because my loans had been in deferrment for all of 2007 basically and I never got anything from them stating when my payments would start back up.

Sheesh!

Anyway so I\'ve just been busy, busier than I thought but I\'m still alive. Just needing to work on Golden Demon entries though as I\'ve only got a month left.

They\'re always quick to take money from you but it takes ages if they owe you something.

The wagga was wondering where you were but says you\'re still not getting the teddy bear. It\'s all his.

Business model:

1. lend money to scrambling students, secured by the government.
2. take every possible opportunity to fuck up the paperwork, lose correspondence, or deceive the borrower.
3. tell the borrower it\'s all their fault, because they usually can\'t afford to take you to court or talk to a lawyer about it.
4. watch most of them knuckle under for lack of options.
5. PROFIT!

The education system needs some serious reform though. They are all operated as businesses, not places of study any more which in my opinion degrades the quality of the education while prices keep sky-rocketing!

And yet people are surprised to learn that it\'s a fraction of the population that holds degrees?!

Yeah I\'m not suprised.

Slightly off topic, I learned from experience that if you are not happy with some company\'s service (especially the big corporate), the best thing to do is to write a letter, do not call. Calling, they can ignore easily, but if it is in black and white, they will go berserk and send you apology letter, compensation, etc. Putting thing in b&w probably will hurt their \"image\"

Hope to see your new painting :)

uh huh, I agree. THat\'s why when I got the \"late bill\" which was the first bill I had received since finishing my degree . . . I sent the check for the amount they asked and included a letter. That was the only reason I got this Greg the Accountant guy calling me in the first place. Then once he had done what I asked for in that letter he started acting like a wanker.

Oh and for those awaiting to see new stuff in my gallery . . . don\'t hold your breath! It\'s going to be a while and I don\'t want anyone dying in the mean time!

I\'m currently working on GD entries and that means not sharing all of my work as I don\'t want competition to catch wind of it. Once GD is over (June) I\'ll post what I\'ve been working on.
