Where there\'s smoke there\'s fire...

I\'m trying to find a decent guide to making large sections of smoke and fire. I\'ve seen some really good examples of what I\'m looking for used on jump-packs and the like.

What I\'m hoping to pull off is a great deal of fire and smoke for a dragon diorama I\'m going to start shortly. Looking at the sculpts I\'m impressed by gives me the idea that I\'ll need ot buy a lot of cottonballs, but I\'m sure just jumping in is going to annoy me more than I\'m really interested in.

Any help out there?

Look in the articles, I think there\'s something there about making smoke and flame. Shawn RL has done several clever things with expanded foam if you look in his gallery.

I have been requested to do an article on the smoke I have done and right now I just cant. BUT, to put it real simply, if you can make a ball out of foamrubber with a pair of scissors then you can make smoke. The smoke I do is simply that, alot of little balls. The overall shape is an upside down teardrop with crevices and highpoints. Snip holes, and round the shapes.

Note, if you look at this link, that whoever painted the aluminum foil fire got it wrong. It goes from dark to light when it should go from light to dark (as the steel wool does).
