Where to find tiny drill bits for pinning?

Hey guys,

I'm considering a fairly ambitious rebasing project and several of the miniatures have very small contact points. I'm hoping to add scenic bases while keeping them as structurally sound as possible. if anyone would be willing to point me in the direction of some very small drill bits as well as accompanying brass rod I would greatly appreciate it.

I usually buy them at electronic shops. They always have everything from 0.4mm to 2mm. Price is somewhere between 0.2$ and 0.5$.

Cheaper could be ebay or aliexpress, but normally you don't need too many drill-bits.

brass rods: I get them at the local creative shop. They sell 1m long ones in sizes 0.6 and larger.

0.8mm is usually the best. With some Rackham/KD/Infinity/other smaller ones needing 0.6 or even 0.4mm and Larger figures up to 1.5mm (I use these for 1/6 scale figures)

Thanks fellas for the suggestions but I guess I should clarify. I do have a set from Galeforce 9 that have worked fine for pinning my Warmachine/Hordes models but I need some real small ones, like smaller than 1mm I think. I'm hoping to rebase my Rum & Bones pirates and many have tiny little ankles and/or peg legs so any specific sizes to look for would be great. I was wondering if something like the 21pc Mini HSS Twist Micro-Drill Bits Set Index 61-80 w/Aluminum Hand Drill hobby would do the trick?

just to clarify: afaik 0.4mm is smaller than 1mm. :)

Yes, the set you selected will work (altough I'm a bit unsure about the aluminium part, but probably not an issue).
You'll mostly use the #68 (about 0.8mm, the standard paperclip is about the same) or the #73 (about 0.6mm) from it, so the rest (except maybe for the box, the hand-drill and the #79 bit (0.4mm) ) is basically a waste of money as they most likely won't be used.

I don't know why that didn't register on first read sorry man, stupid thing to say. I think I'll pass on the mentioned drill set and pursue .04mm and smaller. If that all fails I suppose I could put some scatter on the base and drill into the leg sideways to give the models something to hang on to if need be.

For really fine contact points I often use steel guitar string.
Yes it's a bugger to cut sometimes and you'd be wise to invest in a magnet but it's very strong and useful.
