Where to store REALLY BIG files

I have a painting I did that I want to offer to everyone here - and whoever you want to pass it on to - and am wondering where I could store the digital file. Haven\'t shot it yet but because I want it to be printable at 16\"x20\" I\'m going to shoot it a 5 MP - 300 dpi. I don\'t mind emailing a few people but if demand get\'s high, I\'d like to find a site like Photobucket that can hold a real big file and it can be downloaded from there.

I don\'t know of any commercial sites that would handle a file like that for free (unless it\'s in the range of maybe 10 megs), but until you find one if you like I can host it on my own site, pelorat.net. Bandwidth is not a concern.

I\'ll even toss it up on the main page, since it\'s just a placeholder right now anyway.

You might want to check out www.4shared.com. They host a lot of files, but I don\'t know if you can link to them from places like CMON.

I have no idea of an answer to your question, but I\'m really excited to see your work!

Do let me know when you get it hosted or if you are going to e-mail it...I wouldn\'t miss it. ;)

Depending on the printer you can get away with files that are surprisingly small.

Better to print from an uncompressed file yourself, if poss. but I presume the file for uploading could be a JPEG so file size shouldn\'t be a problem; Photobucket should be able to handle it - I\'ve got lots of 6MP images from one of my digital cameras in a Photobucket account.

That\'s only 82.4MB of raw pixel data at 24 bits per pixel. Converted to JPG at a very high quality setting would yield a very manageable file size.

If you\'d like you can email it to me and I\'ll convert/host it for you. I have a reseller hosting account with a pretty good bandwidth limit. (my username @ gmail.com)

Here\'s a low rez shot of it. Yes, it\'s about depression. While I don\'t have the cool musculatre of the fellow, I have been WAAAY down and felt the loving touch of God in those darkest of depths..........I was hoping someone might \'connect\' with it in a similar way.

Still got some fine tuning to do but this is 97% there.
