90$ will buy you a ton of minis on eBay if you don\'t mind stripping them; go for metal rather than plastic.

Personally I would buy one or two of each army-type and see how you feel after you\'ve painted them, that way you can find out which you really enjoy painting and which are too much hassle.

I say go with Beasts. Chaos is probably the best army for conversion as there is an endless amount of ways to convert each model. I remember seeing a White Dwarf article and a guy made a beasts of chaos army themed around Tzeentch. Since the lord of change is a bird-like creature, instead of using regular beast models, the guy who made the army used kroot as the beasts to stick with the bird theme. For chariots the guy used krootox as steeds to pull the chariots. Anyways it seems like a cool idea that you may get some inpiration from

painting them on cloaks white is going to provide you with a hell of a lot of \"shadow filling\" on furs and other types of recesses, that will end up being quite a nightmare on such a horde army that is beasts...that is only if you spray them white, another possibility, is to spray them black, drybrush all furs and bits, then use either dhneb stone, or the pale grey gw foundation paints forllowed by white, i think it could look really cool, as a completely albino chaos army, as it fits in with the whole no sun in the chaos wastes fluff

oh what god.. khorne, as i guess khorne doesnt care too much for sunbathing in the chaos wastes, or tzeench, as some kind of magical army that has sucked out all of the pigment from their skin

White says Slaanesh to me. Pale skin and pastels for the loincloth bits.
I\'d recommend a different colour for each herd as it can get tricky working out who\'s who when you have lots of skirmishing units.

The odd daemonette claw on your champions would look cool.

Actually.... you could make some pretty cool bestigor (Slaangor) using daemonettes as the base. Sculpt hooves over the clawed feet, the legs are jointed the right way already. Add a bit of fur to the back and use beastman arms and heads....
