Which color scheme?

Hi there!

I\'m just about to start painting my next mini: Duke Gerard from Reaper

and i can\'t make up my mind!
I\'m thinking about a \"cold related\" colour scheme with ice-blue armour, grey and other cold colours

or something different:
a bone armour with a deep red cloack

please help me to choose!

Thanx

Cold related sounds good.It will let you get a good look to gems and other details without going over the top.

i think cold related fits well but i think that if you\'re planning to use nmm you risk to make it too monochromatic, you need some sort of fist in the eye colour to break the grey and blue tones imho.
Perhaps some stunning freehand work on the shield or an well done haraldic symbol, as you see the shield is very big and it will capture the attention of the people

I was actually liking the sound of the bone and red myself....almost an imperial rome feel to it with slightly scary armour :D

Yeah bone and red sounds really cool, cold sounds nice too but maybe a little too monochromatique. My vote goes to bone :D

Some?:p:)

I like your idea. Cold blue and grey armour with a deep red cloak. I\'m no expert in colour theory, but contrast is good.

All right it seems that i\'ll paint the armour in bone, and the decision about the cloack has still to be taken.

In addition, i was thinking to gold NMM for the eagle on his chest, but i\'ll take a final decision after the armour is completed

thanks all for helping me!

I would say, if you are doing the armor in bone then you should paint the cloak a russet red - something kind of dirty. Then do the wings a sky blue unless something else is required. Then Gold and Silver (Metal or NMM) highlights to brighten him up.
