Which dull coat would you recommend?

Hi All

I am after a little bit of advice regarding matt varnish sprays. For a long long time i've used citadel's 'Ardcoat, but find the finish can be a little bit too glossy. Which brand offers a truly matt finish?

Dull Cote is most peoples favourite if you are in the UK it's available from here:

Vallejo's Matt Varnish is also very good, I just found/googled this company, although I've never used them

Also in the UK (Not sure about anywhere else) is Humbrol ACRYLIC MATT VARNISH.
Behaves very much like Testors Dullcoate, both of which are touch dry in about 5-10 minutes.
But I have to add a Caveat I'm not sure on its longevity in comparison to Dullcoate.

What do people use under Testor's Dullcote? I have tried using Pelikan plaka gloss, but it has come out too shiny. Maybe I put too much on. I'm going to try using GW spray satin and then Testors Dullcote. Any thoughts? Varnishing is something I really need to sort out - atm I tend to spoil things :-(

@ kahoolin, note that you need to put something underneath the dull coat or any metallic paints will just die!
