Which LOTR mini looks most like the actor?

In my humble opinion, I don\'t think that the GW minis look much like the actors. I think Theoden looks the closest to resembling the actor. Now if they could just get the Arwen and Eowyn to look like Liv Tyler and Miranda Otto and make them life size. lol

I think denethor is exaclty the same as the actor in the film.
boromir is closely similar andbilbo and gandalf are so good too

I have seen the Saruman character painted up a couple of times here on CMON, and I thought that looked amazingly like the actor.

Actually, any likeness at all is amazing, considering the tiny scale the sculptors work with.

That has got to be one of the toughest jobs as a sculptor. It would be one thing to say to someone, \"sculpt this putty one inch high and make it look like a wizard\" and quite another thing to say \"sculpt this putty one inch high and make it look like Christopher Lee\".

Yeah when you put it like that, it\'s quite impressive how they get the sculpts to look like the characters! So hats off to GW.

Indeed, some are incredibly good. The problem I have with them is inconsistency; when they have done more than one model of the same person, often they don\'t look alike, particularly gandalf - every model they have done of him looks quite different from the others

I also really like the denethor, the unarmoured faramir is also great, ooh and the new models of sam and frodo

Seriously though the Saruman & Gandalf (TTT) figures, facially look most like the actors, with Grima Wormtongue and the unmounted Theoden the next closest.

(Just been to see Return of the King again today, and just as the Ring is destroyed the fire alarms went off and everyone had to be evacuated!!! Luckily we were allowed back in after 30 mins to watch the rest of the movie.)

I agree the Sauraman is very good and Sam looks a lot like Sean Astin. I didn\'t mean to complain because it\'s great they can come as close as they do. I\'ve bought quite a few so I\'m not too unhappy.:)

I have to agree Saruman is probably the closest. The men with scruff (Boromir and Aragorn) are just awful in my opinion, as they are either smooth shaven or fully bearded in the sculpts. I can\'t wait for more of the Return of the King stuff to come out though...

The worst is Arwen/Liv Tyler for me...If she\'d have so long arms I wonder if she would have been recruited to play in the movie or even another one...Oh maybe planets of the apes! Gibbon princess!:D
Sorry you asked for the closest...Well I liked Bilbo or at least thought he was close...

I wish I had the same chance...The last 30mn were painful to me...Me being a kid I wanted to leave and move...Just to imitate Legolas on the next zoo with the first elephant I could fight:)

Damn! Dragonsreach and Supervike have been faster than me...Edited my previous message but feel free to tell me how to make it disappear...I don\'t want people to think I just post to post...:)And seeing my face (no it\'s not just an avatar) three times like that makes me become scizophrenic.
Just to make this post a bit useful.I\'d say that it is really difficult to make 25mm look like actors you see on giant screens like in theater and even on lesser like TVs...So if I was collecting this Tolkine line I would be happy.I especially like their dwarves

Bill the pony. Oh sorry, they didn\'t have Bill the Pony in the new movies... or maybe they did. Can\'t remember. Maybe they didn\'t make a mini for him. He was one of my favorite characters to. Sad to see him get torn into shreds and devoured by the Watcher in the Water :D
