Reflect your opinions in your votes/comments.

The Moderators job is incredibly complex...there are so many variables that have to be checked, one only often glances at the picture to make sure it\'s not porn.

If you want a highly sophisticated categorisation and moderation system then a free site manned by volunteers probably isn\'t the best place to look for it:innocent:

Almost all pics and comments (and forums)are moderated by Jim and Mike who do a wonderful job IMO.;)

I agree moderation is a difficult job, damned if you do damned if you dont.

But I disagree about free, as I pay towards this site.;)

I love it when we get a group hug from Finn, Makes me all warm & fuzzy inside (Oh I\'m so dead for that lol)

I see being a moderator of this site as a priviledge. Ok it has a bonus in that I get to see the images I approve before the rest of you, but as yet I\'ve not seen an image that was Porn. Finn might have been lucky (or unlucky take your pick).

The variance range between a 0 ratable mini and an automatic Jaw dropping 10 is huge and if we were to sit an prune out every image that was out of focus, had a garbage background, the work would be endless and ultimatley of no benefit to the poster or to you as veiwers.
Using the comments funtion of Coolmini can only help people improve, either in getting a decent picture for us to look at, or in painting something worthwhile. If all people want is \"Serious Eye-Candy\" then set the Browse Critieria to pictures rated 8 or above, but you\'ll lose out in the end by missing good stuff which might not be high scoring.

Luke, the last time I looked there were 590(+/-) subscribers, 4800(+) Posting painters and 4900(+) registered persons on the site. So in essense the site is free to the majority. ;)

I must also voice my frustration over multiple postings and WiPs. I tend to vote the both rather low. WiPs rarely get above a 5 from me (depending on how much is completed) unless the poster has made specific comments as to why it has been posted in which case I tend to shave off only a point or two from what I might think of it were it finished. As for multiple posts of the same mini I tend to rank them on a decreasing score taking a point off for each view I end up getting of it.

I can think of one diorama recently where I saw 7 postings of the same minis (all slightly different pictures) in the space of 10 mins of rating. Complete time waster it was, to bad cause it was a solid 8 piece.

If I come across the same mini at different angles, I give the first pic my preferred score, then every other pic of the same mini a 1.

With different people seeing a different view first, this is going to screw up their score, and hopefully they\'ll learn not to post multiple pics again.
