I am not going, but I am curious about the categories. I read the english version of the rules, and Categories 4(monster or rider), 5(war machine or vehicle), and 6 (regiment or squad) seem to combine together fantasy and 40k entries. Is this usual for the French GD or is this new(or am I misunderstanding)? Anyone have any feelings on this?

It\'s been like that for many years in the french GD. War machines however have been quite unpopular compared to the vehicles. Otherwise, the rest is rather balanced between fantasy and 40k entries.

[edit]You can find some of the past winners here[/edit]

Thanks for the reply. I think I was so in awe of the painting last year that I didn\'t notice some categories had both fantasy and 40k entries.

I might come if I\'m able to buy a plane ticket(the train is really expensive, 110 euro\'s). But I don\'t know if I can mailorder a ticket in Northern Europe :(

@Herb the bitter : no problem ;). The french GD started out with few categories, but every year or so, they add something new, and since last year many foreigners entered the contest, it has become really facinating to not only see different painting techniques but also to compare them on miniatures from different universes (it must be really tough to be a judge in that case ;)).

I just checked the french online store (http://fr.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.fr). It seems that they will not be selling them online, but you can get them by calling or by mail order.

The telephone number : 04 42 90 38 38 (but I don\'t know the number to put in front for an intenational call to France)

The address :
VPC Games Workshop
BP 419
13591 Aix en Provence Cedex 3
France

I should get GW stock ;).
