well i will feel old for this but from my very eclectic tastes my main likes are old school hard house, nina simone, david bowie then sprinklings of razorlight U2 guns and roses and blur. (i\'ll stop there because i could go on all night!!
Though lately (as in, the past two years or so) I\'ve listened to almost nothing but J-pop, so I have strong favorites there: Do As Infinity, Miwako Okuda, Shigeo Suga.
A couple of new songs by Nightmare have jumped onto my favourites list very recently. Kind of a Japanese Fate\'s Warning. We\'ll see if the rest of their songs are as cool.
I listen by default. My son is currently into the Gorrillas (not bad actually. Reminds me sort of like a new Art of Noise) right now but has a few other he likes so I listen to that a lot.
My husband will listen to virtually ANYTHING and tends to stay in the \'50\'s - \' 90\'s range but a lot of what he listens to is pretty obscure, like African Jazz (jaluka and others). I listen to that by default as well.
I haven\'t baught a cd for myself since....well....cd\'s came out. I\'m allowed to buy a little of the xmas music but most of that is baught by my husband because he likes the obscure stuff there as well. No Perry Como or good old Bing for him. He buys the hammer dulcimer Christmas, or the Tibetan Christmas Chants.
People give us weird looks when the come to our house for the holidays.
Hmm lemme see, the ones most frequently played in the last few weeks:
Dream theather (new album, listened to it a bezillion times), After forever (new album, listened to it a bezillion times), Nightwish, Megadeth, Ayreon (and all side projects), Within Temptation
Though I can make the list much much longer ofcourse
At the moment its Herbie Hancock (inventions and dimensions is getting alot of play)
Rickie Lee Jones
Clint Mansell (Requiem soundtrack)
Helen Humes (What a voice!)
Joe Lee Wilson
John Martyn
Lester Young
Otis Spann
Richard Thompson
Taj Mahal (the live stuff is fantastic)
And whatever is on radio 2
So lots of Jazz right now.
Though im sure this list will have changed since the last time I wrote one, and will change again the next time I write one.
Black Sabbath
Queen
Guns and Roses
Dio
Led Zeppelin
Been to Heaven and Hell some weeks ago and it was awesome! Tony and Geezer still rock at their age and Ronnie hasn\'t changed a bit, only his hair seems to have disappeared over the years.
My all time favourite band has got to be Pink Floyd. but my current fave is a Swedish futurepop band called Covenant. In particular this song from last year\'s album.
Someone should sculpt a mini of Eskil he\'s got a scary face
I personally don\'t have a favorite since thee is many in my mind that is in first place, but out of all the heavy metal, classical, Jazz, classic rock, and rhythm and blues I would have to say the most listen to band is Amon Amarth.
