why doesn\'t the ravenwing biker set contain any bases?

Gw wants us to make bases for ourselves, is it that hard to add these bases:

I don\'t think so, kinda cheap ain\'t it?

I\'ve got the Ravenwing Biker set. It comes with 25mm*50mm cavalry bases.

The article on the GW site is just ideas for if you want to make nicer/more elaborate ones.

As for it being hard to add those bases. Well, yes it is. The bases need to be made in plastic which is a horrendously expensive process involving large steel moulds. GW are getting to the point where this is getting more cost effective but I guess they don\'t yet see biker bases as financially a good usage of their money.

If so, how come they don\'t have bases in their gallery:

I believe you guys, but if they don\'t have bases, I think they are \'toy bikes\' ( Hey, they\'re supposed to be models!:p)

Because they are better and more versatile for photography without bases. Also, you don\'t have to base bikes for them to be legal in the game, so as GW\'s main focus is making game ready minis they probably don\'t see the need.

Yep, the bases are optional, but they do give you that option.

And, I agree, they look like toys without bases.

That picture you posted seems to be the same bikes on the actual box, minus background. I\'m guessing the bases aren\'t pictured because they had they were photographed without them for the box cover, then used the version of the image with the white background for web images.

Both the ravenwing battleforce and the box of ravenwing bikes I\'ve picked up came with bases. They even had the calvary slots filled in to sve me from having to putty them.
