Why oh why do I use eBay?

Hmm. So, the buyer gave positive feedback almost immediately after I emailed him. Now, it clearly states in the help bit of Paypal that this should now mean that the money should immediately put off hold.

Nothing.

Curiously, it keeps on telling me to \'post now\' with seemingly no way of telling it to bugger off. Checked on ebay, in which I\'ve set it to despatched. feedback all done, everything fine.

What is going on?

At this point of course I\'m resigned to the fact I have no idea of when the money will be release. Quite honestly, the money doesn\'t particularly bother me now, it\'s just the principle of the thing, and keeping the seller waiting too long.

Ah well.

Since I was planning on selling some things within the next couple of months, I decided to look up some more info on this. Found this from the following eBay page.

30. What can I do to avoid having eBay item holds?
Your payments WILL BE NOT HELD if you meet all the following requirements:

* eBay Tenure: Greater than 6-months
* Total Feedback score: More than 100
* Dissatisfied Buyers %: Less than 5%

Or if you meet all the following requirements:

* Detailed Seller Rating: Greater than 4.5
* Total Detailed Seller Ratings Received: More than 20 in the last 12-months

So... in theory, this wouldn\'t apply to me (registered in 2003, 450+ feedback, no dissatisfied buyers), even though I have no Detailed Seller Ratings.

Speaking of which, does anybody actually bother using those? I never have once used the detailed rating when leaving feedback. Not once. And not planning to start.

Anyway, more info for those having problems can be found at this link. Hope it helps.

Joek you can call Paypal and speak with them directly about it. Go to their website and browse around until you find the contact number, then jump through their hoops on their auto system until eventually you\'ll get the option to talk to a rep.

I use the detailed feedback. I thought we kind of had to? I\'m new though, 13 stars, so a tad ignorant. We\'re talking about the different ratings out of 5 stars for stuff, right?

Yeah, the detailed stuff is the five star rating thinger.

I don\'t bother with it as I just want to add a quick feedback comment and move on. I don\'t want to have to review my email to see if I can nitpick the seller\'s communication skills or how long something took to arrive. Just a quick click on positive and \"Seller was honest, pretty, awesome, and saved kittens from a fire, A+++ ZOMG\" or whatever. Comments are more useful to others than some arbitrary star system.
