ok, as far as I have seen noone is this freakin\' state sells green stuff. All I can find is white stuff. As part of one of my recent commisions the guy wanted som sculpting.. but he sent way too much GS for the job.. so I figured I\'d try gs out..

I took a bit of it and started sculpting hair on one of my morheim guys... a moment later done... GREEN STUFF OWNS!

SO why white stuff... all I can see is white stuff around here... but white stuff bites the big...you know. So does anyone know WHY we even have white stuff? ALso why is it that I cannot find green stuff?

I know what you mean, I ended up buying green stuff over the internet because all I could find was the white/grey stuff. And I find that green stuff is alot nicer.

Yeah, I have the same problem...White stuff sucks...I could go on and on about how much it frustrates me, but I\'ll spare you my teenage angst.

I just ended up buying a tube of greenstuff along with my new CMON contest mini.

i never found any in a hobby store, my first roll came from the internet, the second from a local plumbing supply store. Try the trades, maybe they got your \"stuff.\"

My first attempts at sculpting were with LePage 2-part white stuff ribbon from Canadian Tire. I... didn\'t post a pic. I just ordered my first green stuff, can\'t wait for it to arrive.

The difficulty to find green stuff

Rumour has it that green stuff is more toxic than white/grey stuff (could somebody please confirm, I\'ve found it difficult to get more precisions on the subject). So like lead was replaced by pewter, I suppose most shop owners rather not sell green stuff.

In fact I have quite a different problem. I can find green stuff, but no brown stuff (apparently it makes crisper edges and is less toxic). But hey, if I did, i\'d have to change my user name ;).

Not surprisingly, since it\'s the same stuff. I don\'t know who or why that runor was brought in the world but it\'s non-sense. I\'ll contact polymerics and see if they can send an official reaction.

As to buying brown stuff, try www.fortressfigures.com or www.jeffvalentstudios.com in the US.
www.sylmasta.com for Europe

@Aragorns_mate: that stuff that is sold by Games Workshop is also the Polymerics inc. Kneadatite blue-yellow sculpting putty (aka green stuff, aka Duro in Europe - not US since the Duro there is a different putty). They just repack and sell it through their stores. If you need it in quantity it can be interesting to check other stores since 36\" should normally cost around $10 -$12.

Where ever you buy it, make sure it\'s fresh. Here is what happens when it\'s old: http://shorterlink.com/?UXXH2A

Ahem....

You can buy white, green and brown stuff from the CMON shop.

(They have sold out of white and brown at the moment however)

If you are in the UK, then try Heresy miniatures:

http://www.heresyminiatures.com/

Although for some reason, thay also appear to be out of stock.....Andy at Heresy is a good bloke to buy from normally though as he is a sculptor himself and only gets nice fresh stuff.

Maybe Andy is out of the stuff because he has been on a sculpting frenzy and we will see tons of new stuff....right in time for Christmas!!!

You can get a Tube of green stuff that contains 4 times the amount games workshop seels for 12.99 American from the War Store or Cool Mini Or Not. That\'s roughly twice the price, for four times the amount of putty.

All I\'ve ever used is Tamiya Epoxy Putty. I just used some to fix a tear in my front door too. From what I\'ve been told it dries faster and harder than green stuff, but can\'t say from experience. I wish someone had come up with some other name than Green Stuff and White Stuff etc. Tamiya has a white part and a yellowy brown part so you might call it Sh** Brown Stuff.
In the hardware store you can usually find a display of the various types of 2-part epoxy putties and what they are best used for. There are probably a dozen or more.

Yeah, I bought some of their putty once, it was unusable due to having a cured skin all over it. Any time you mixed it up it had chunks. Really freakin\' amazing stuff.

green is better

Like when the US reissued all of it\'s currency on white paper. It just wasn\'t as good.

Ok, they never did that. I just told my friends that they did when I was trying to pay off what I owed them with construction paper. They didn\'t buy it.

I used white stuff for the longest time and I thought that I must suck at sculpting because I couldn\'t get anything to work. Then I saw that my local hobby store had some real green stuff. I wasn\'t going to get it because, as I mentioned, I was convinced the problem was me. Anyway, I was only a few dollars negative in the bank account, so I decided I could afford to buy some. When I tried it I realized the truth. I only kinda suck at sculpting. The green stuff is way easier to handle. It takes much longer to set. You can actually mess with it for a while before it gets hard. (That last sentence can be used in several different settings.)

I have heard the rumor that green stuff is slightly more toxic as well. And it is not true that green and white are the same thing. If they were the same they would act the same, and they don\'t. But that does not mean that white or brown stuff are safe. You should wash your hands after using this stuff. It can be toxic and it will stay on your hands when you are done, if you don\'t wash.
