Well that explains the only problem I have had so far - UT2004 keeps telling me that either 800x600 or 1024x768 (whichever I have it set at) is not supported, but it then still runs ok. I was more worried the \"firewall\" (if it can be laughingly called that) would mess up net play.
We did get a \"Flash News\" this morning that the Service pack had been pulled by Microsoft. Due to an alledged conflict with Norton Anti-virus and Firewall Updates. Not sure how accurate that is/was.

Mac OS is best...
I only had experience of Macs until about 18 months ago when I decided to build myself a PC. Their\'s (Apple\'s) is undoubtedly the BEST system. However, I can incorporate such power and memory into my PC now that it overcomes the worst effects of the God-awful programming of Microsoft....
I still use my Mac for image processing though...

I use Mac and Windows both, very extensively in my work in graphics, photo editing/retouching: all kinds of very processor intensive stuff and have FAR less trouble with the Macs.
Whenever somebody asks me if they should buy a Mac or a PC (especially non-computer people ) I simply say \" Do you want to get some work done, or are you a mechanic type that wants to f**k with your computer all the time?\" The constant patches, upgrades, virus fixes, re-writes, that are part of the PC world aren\'t worth the trouble. Have had one Mac virus in 14 years of working with them and having them connected to the internet.
Keep in mind I use them both but I think my preference may be somewhat apparent

One other comment. About networking.....
I am convinced that MicroShaft designed the networking systems to be as complex as possible and actually created an entire industry of people to deal with it. I have a very good friend who works in IT for an international media company that tends to agree with me

Finn you are on target there! As long as you are willing to learn they can be fun to build. It\'s a pretty good rush to build up a box and then have it actually work!
A confession, I may be building up a box to handle 3D modeling, Poser, and that kind of thing. Although once I get into final color and character tweaking, that will all happen back on the Mac side with it\'s superior color handling!

Ditto! I\'ve got my main box (which I built myself--yay) dual-booted with Linux and WindowsXP. About the only time I ever go into Windows anymore is to play games, since I\'ve just got to play Hitman sometimes...
It\'s pretty funny...I know that a lot of people complain that Linux is \"too complicated,\" but I\'ve gotten to the point where I\'m so comfortable with it, it\'s Windows that seems complicated when I have to do something in it other than shoot things.
