Winged Basti and Medusa (wyrd FF entries)

Hi all,

Gonna be pimping my own miniatures again. But hopefully I\'m forgiven as I\'m really proud of these 2. :innocent:

They were both entered into the Femme Fatale competition at Wyrd (you can click this link too you know ;) )

First off the one I like best myself. My winged basti. She did really well in the competition :D (1st in category and joined 3th in best of show)

You have every right to pimp these proudly! They are both excellent minis. Those wings just seem a perfect fit for the basti and the blending is beautiful. The skin has a really nice soft, fuzzy, furry \"feel\" to it. The Medussa diarama doesn\'t have as \"pretty\" a feel to it, but then again, it\'s not supposed to. Completely different type of subject matter. Both are very nice work.

And just as an aside, these prove that I DO, at least occasionally, have a clue. :D I had the basti as best in category and tied for best in show and Medussa as second best in her category, too!! Well, you know what they say: even a blind squirrel... :D

Cindy, you know I love both of these, and already gave you lots of praise in private :D I think I\'m going to use inspiration from your wings on one of my GD entries ;)

Voted nice paint job. Love the winged dood. The base is great. I also love how the dood in the other one is half turned to stone very well done.

the skin on medusa is great. i\'d like to see a photo of the back of the basti to see how those wings attatch

Those are both fantastic!

I love them, but I really liked one of the other minis you posted over there...the biker girl. You should share that one as well.

Congrats on such great stuff!

I like all three of your entries! I am however somwhat partial to the biker because of the great expression.

I really had fun turning that guy half into stone. It wasn\'t an easy fig to paint, especially the face. Something I find hard on most Garrity sculpts (man are those eyes tiny)... but it was the most greek looking miniature I had so he was the one I wanted to use. Didn\'t give him his wings and resculpted the hole in his back. Repositioned his limbs for more animation too. (He\'s an angel officially... gave those bend in a different shape to the Basti girl ;) ).

I ended up voting for all three of these entries without knowing they were yours. Well deserved wins for you. i thought the Medusa scene with the man turning to stone was brilliant, the biker girl had so much character and such a great base, and th Basti was just off the hook. Fantastic pain jobs all... :D

P.S. - you are dead on about the Garrity sculpts...the eyes are damned near impossible to paint. I had a run of five commisions in a row last year and they all picked Garrity sculpts...thought I was going to go mad....

Voted & commented on the Basti and the biker gal. Don\'t like the Medusa composition (as opposed to the paintjob itself) at all so couldn\'t bring myself to vote. Hope you\'ll forgive me for that. :)
