my personal thoughts... tail\'s too long wings are too small \\ not builky enough the carapace is backwards, it\'s a carnifex not a tyrant, and its been...... DIPPED!

aha!

yes its a carnifex kit but i prefer my version to the HT kit, hence the conversion.

The bodies deliberatly turned upside down so it stands more upright, and although its obvious to a trained eye i think it works ok.

The tail is long, but thats intentional, for two reasons. firslty i wanted it to wrap the pillar (i\'ve actually shortened the tail a bit frmo my original one!) and secondly, the beasty has no legs, and i imagined to to look a bit like a dragon in mid air, and a stubby tail just wouldnt do.

the wings are actually the same width as a balrogs wings in the flesh, the whole model is rougly 30cm across from tip to tip.

Rev, these dipped wings look much better than most painted wings. The effect is far more realistic and convincing. The tyranid and statue are very well done. I really like the overall vibe of this piece.

REV, you\'ve got this dipping down to an art now.

I like the conversion, I think the tail is slightly to long, but the dipping has come out really well on him, especially the wings.

The dipping on this guy is the best so far, it looks more controled than your gaunts.

The statue diorama thing works well too.

Keep it up, would love to see some pics of how your army is looking now.

thanks for that - its really encouraging.

have just one fex to go, then i\'ll post some army shots for you - they\'re looking really good as a group i think.

time wise, its taken less than 2 weeks (given a break for xmas) to complete. given the ££ cost/time ratio i\'ve promised the wife a nice SLOW project next!!
