here are some (old) pics from my Adeptus custodes army project:

these pics are a bit old the army has changed, I´ll post some new pics ASAP

This army could be played 2 ways

Space marines with Grey knights allies
Full Grey knights

Great work so far.

I did a whole Custodes army myself last year, it took absolutely ages to convery and paint. I used Pure Grey Knight rules for them.

How big an army are you planning to do?

I quite like these guys so far.
Usually Custodes conversions look a bit gay, but yours are quite interesting. I STILL find the bright gold a bit too much, but that\'s personal taste - I\'d have it a lot browner.

Nice stuff.

I like the fact that for custodes they aren\'t over the top like most conversions.

Ooh, very cool Are all those old school bodies still available for order? Or are they trades/eBay only by now? I have a couple of these ancient suits of armor kicking around (been a while since I\'ve seen some of them tho). Might be worth painting up, the ancient looking ones seem to paint up as well as that glorious arm-less MkIV suit you can still get. Some new plastic arms/backpack and you\'re laughing...

Oh and I quite agree with Thunderhawker, I like how the more basic Marines in the army are sensible conversions. Not everything needs to be buried in greenstuff and plasticard, no matter how good you are at using it (I\'m looking at you, Joe Orteza ).

And another thing! Love the eyes

KingM I\'m building a 2000pts army, these pics are 4 month old The army is way bigger now..... but my camera is broken. I\'ll try to get one and post more current pics.

DaN I kinda agree with you but I\'m not such a great painter. but if anybody knows a real good way to peint gold I\'m all ears open

Jericho Some still are but I\' ve been collecting figures for a long time so most of \'em were just sitting on my shelves to serve a purpose, the others were found on Ebay.I know that the marine custodes have the same armor and look alike usually but I do admit I might be a little of a showoff and wanted to display part of my collection doing that [ shame on me] And the reason why there\'s no green stuff or plasticard is that i\'m the worst sculptor ever:drunk:. So just bits and glue.

Decent gold:
Black base, tarnished gold - wash with chesnut ink. Drybrush back over with tarnished gold.

Pick up edges with shining gold and top hotspots with mithril silver.

DEEP gold:
Black base, tin bitz. Drybrush dwarven bronze, chesnut wash. Drybrush dwarven bronze. Lighter dryrushing of Tarnished gold, lighter wash of chesnut... continue as above example.

Except i used brown ink instead of chestnut. May be it´s the pics

Personally I prefer Flesh Wash... it\'s kind of a mix of Chestnut and Brown I think. But it\'s way faster Another surprisingly good wash for gold is to mix brown and purple inks, do that in between bronze and gold.

So here are some new pics


The Emperor and his Terminator retinue

They can either be a Space marine lord in terminator armor with terminator retinue with assault cannon or a Grey Knight Lord and a Grey Knights terminator squad with psy cannon

A very WIP terminator squad

They were sculpted by Lord Velard, I hope he still got 3 more....

They can either be a terminator Assault squad or a Grey Knights Terminator squad with assault weapons.


The Custodian knights squads

The Third squad is another Lord velard\'s job, I hope he has 2 more too....

They\'re always used as Grey Knights squads, the 2 first are with psy cannon, the third one with incinerator.
The third one\'s also always a fast attack grey knights squad choice.

The Custodian marines

Only used in the Space Marine Army, marine tactics squad
Still one to be converted.

Sister of Silence

Only used in the Daemonhunter army, used as Death cult assassin
still 2 to be converted

Custodian Rhinos

Only used in the Daemonhunter army.

Still missing

2 dreadnoughts
1 landraider
lots and lots of bits

More progress, good to see I like the Sister of Silence as well, not 100% true to the concept art at this stage but it\'s a really good starting point with the DE body.

The halfmask helmet thing is great, just like it should be
