I know how you feel mate, ive also had some bad comments on a thing and i also dont get much comments on my WIP blog.... so i know how it feels to loose motivation (still fighting with that problem too) But i really think you dont have to feel down at all, i got to say this is a reall good army. I really love the cold ones they are painted beautifull! and that hydra's pose is really imposing looking forwad to see that!
I would like to say keep painting and posting please:) i really enjoy your blog here!

good luck with it

But a little to your hyda. Please put something under her right foot. This pos does not fit for a such big animal! Perhaps a sonn dead enemy, or a rock?

I might have an idea about this.... i do have some chaos spawn, and i think i figured out how to make it work....

Since my idea is to present my army as some Slaanesh temple rider, searching for relics to defeat the High Elf, figure it would make sense to have a few more chaos in the army being killed/executed....

Of course, this is major WIP, the chaos spawn will need to have his leg bent, and i'm thinking about having one burnt/cut off...

And... um... yeah.... Imageshack hates me tonight, so pic will be up later...

Coughed my ass off for the past 3 weeks, so been really hard to concentrate on painting, which comes to a very bad time.

I'm still painting those damn Crossbowman, but i think they're coming out nicely.

Right now, those 2 are about 80% done. Still left to do :
Highlight on Blue cloth
Weapon
Shoulders pad...

and its the last part that i'm not sure about. I have two option : either go with the basic metallic color like the rest of the armor (might avoid the blue wash), or go like the rest of my army (CoK and heroes) and paint their shoulder golden. If i chose the later, i though i could try to highlight them a bit less, so they look less.... expensive, or exclusive.

Two alternative

neat! personally i think both versions work, but why not give the golden shoulderplates to the more high-ranking eldars or something?

falling way behind on schedule, but i'm slowly progressing.

First, my Hydra. Didnt finish the GS work on its neck yet, but the base is pretty much "finished".

A Chaos spawn being walked on will help it keep its balance. Going to paint it the Slaanesh way (nice way to say its gonna be hot pink, right?)

And my first 90% finished Crossbowman. Still need to highlight the blue cloth. Rest is pretty much finished. I'm such a slow painter, those must have taken me roughly 40 hours total.....

Hoi... I like this Idea of an enemy under her foot, where did you get this splendid inspiration?
[/joking]

Jokes aside: In my opinion, it looks better now. Before that I had the impression, if it could loose its balance.

I like the crossbows of your crossbowmen, but I think, that the armor could have a little more highlight on the edges. Most probably it is the photo, that makes them look a little bit flat. And I LOVE the idea of this blue skin!

Dont post here often, mostly lurk, but just wanted you to know that I book marked your thread to use for inspiration and as a guide when doing my own Dark Elves army. Love the color scheme the most, they complement eachother in a very unique and intriguing way, and the flesh and hair are awesome. So, ignore those bad comments and keep pushing onward. I and I beleive many others are waiting for your updates.

Cheers,

RONIN

I'll echo some of what Ronin said. I like the color scheme as well. The contrast of the skin color and metallics is nice.

Looking forward to seeing the corsairs. I just picked these up myself and they are really impressive models.

I like the cloak as well, but have you considered putting a little more texture onto the raised scales? You could do that with a little extra edge highlighting... or maybe some cracklure if you're feeling adventurous.

they'Re not finished yet. You gotta look at how the scale look on my test model to get a good idea of the final color.

I dont think i'd do highlight on scale. I rather just paint them individually (kinda like i did on Cold One).

here's an update. I decided to go for a Pure Desert Yellow (will put some shadow on it later) for under the cloak.

Only detail that is finished is the spine on the cloak.

they are comming along very nicely!
I quit like the spines, never noticed them before :S but they are well painted
the dessert yellow works for me, i can't give a real comment on it since I see you are going to shade and highlight them
looking forward to the next update, keep them comming :)
