WIP Dark Elves - Need inputs...

One of the main reason i like certain model is for their details. So easier to paint than freehand

After 3-4 paint session that didnt turn out the way i wanted at all, i decided to go back to paint the cloak, and try to finish this first instead.

But now i'm not sure how to paint my scale ;

1- highlight around the scale (left). It look sloppy from close, but from a distance, i think its pretty impressive
2- Highlight the scale completely (right). The high contrast between the cloak and the scale really make it stand out.

Note that the scales on the left one arent finished. The other will just get a highlight a bit darker, to accentuate the light effect.

And here's what i accomplished last night. May add a bit more yellow to the bottom of the cloak, but for now, it look adequate imho.

Nice. But I agree that you should add some yellow to the bottom.

Yeah a little yellow would be nice but I am loving the capes.

"Finished" 10 corsairs. They're not really finished, as their boots, some faces and bases still need works, but that's how i'll roll them to the tournament saturday.... Still lots of work to do on the rest of the army.....

well, tournament was a few weeks ago, and i won a battleforce!!... okay, it was just for participating, but i really enjoyed the comment i had, especially one of the organizer saying my army was at least a top 5 at the tournament if it was completely painted like what is already painted. Always great to hear such comments.

Past few weeks were a bit of a pain. Wife got sick, daughters got sick, i spent half of my first month back at work at the hospital for one or the other. So painting was a bit put on the side, and all that stress definately drained my motivation.

In the past month i still managed to paint another unit.... 5 harpies... It's not much, but considering the crap i been through, i'm satisfied. Skins is painted with roughly the same color as the rest of my army, but to have them look a bit more feral, i avoided the bleached bones.

Lost motivation since 8th was announced, so my painting been.... .sparse. And our Canadians keeps on winning, so every 2 nights, i'm busy watching hockey

But i did paint a RBT that i forgot to post about. I'm very proud of how it turned out. I'm currently preparing a base for the RBT and its crew, should be able to post some update in the coming week or two.

Recently I started going Ebay-crazy ; Basically, i'm going to integrate old models to my army. Not quite sure which direction i'm going Fluff-wise, but basically, the old model will be painted as if everyone was old, kinda like an old uncle wanting to join in the fight with his aged warmachine and Cold One.

They're gonna follow the army scheme, but i'm planning on gray hair, and most likely worn/dirty armor
