Yah light blue would look pretty good. although it may kinda clash with gold. not sayign it would. it all depends. i\'d have to see it. it would make the gold stand out more. i think the focus here is perfect for the face. the face should always grab more attention in my opinion.

If you do decide to do a blue. with a light blue i would definitely say try a more neutral colour then a bright colour.

-base ice blue
-shadow 50/50 ice blue/shadow grey
-shadow further(if feels like its necessary) with shadow grey
-Highlight 50/50 spacewolves grey/ce blue
-highlight spacewolves grey

Something like that would make it look more neautral and the midtones (ice blue) would pop intensely. which is a nice colour in comparison to a dark purple. but i would try a green. see if you like it. Cause both green and purple look amazing with gold.

so we\'ll see :)

OK! had a lot to do over the past couple days but i finally got around to doing the head of this model. :D:D:D

Obsidian, I used your recipe for the green pretty much verbatim and WOW what a cool alien green it created, I am very pleased. I ended up mixing a little too much purple into the white and space wolf gray while doing the helmet. I ended up actually appreciating the light purple it created as it unifies and seems (at least to me) to draw attention to the face. I was a little hesitant to go green with this as i thought it would be too much, but it works i think. I plan on shading the underside of the wraithbone with more of the blue/bleach bone mix you see on the bottom of the bones. Please let me know what you think guys, I value the input.

Cheers!

and here is the mini.

BTW still working on the photography... it was late and the light i was using didnt capture the richness of the color, think i needed a warmer light.

AWESOME! Thats awesome man, One thing i would do though, personally, is to go a little lighter on the highlights for the wraithbone thingy\'s sticking out of his head. just at the top try to get a little more white into it. that way when you look at it, youll see the fig, and the dark purple will be like, oh i want to look up. And then at the top of the figure youll see the white and be like oh i want to look down. Then youll come to the green! which is awesome by the way. The yellowyness (not a word i know) of the green is PERFECT and makes the green warm instead of blue, which is nice, and allows you to fully appreciate the model. Now! one thing i would do for the gold thing, is test it out on a smaller portion of the spear, and see if it looks good. and then show us. Or test it out on somethign lying around then take a photo of it with the warlock thing. Then show us again!lol but other wise this is awesome! If you wouldn\'t mind, i started a thread a while back on blending, its called blending for noobs, and it would be pretty cool if you just added there what kind of blending you do and the technique you use. Thanks, it would be much appreciated.

OK.

I tried a NNM effect on the spear head gold, like yall had suggested. I just went straight for it becuase I had been thinking about it for so long. I found a sight that gave a spectacular recipe for gold and gave it a go. I wish i could say I came up with it but ya have to emulate to learn. :DThe site is here. NMM For a first ever attempt at NMM i think it turned out ok! let me know what you guys think. Thanks for the input, i think it has made the mini better.

take a look.

As for contributing to your post. sure! I\'d be honored too. Thanks for your consideration. I\'ll get a little more white on the tips as i was actually thining that myself, I find working with waterered down whites VERY difficult for edges and such. quite frustrating.

I think the nmm looks good, But i think a little more white to the highlight of it would make it contrast more. It kinda looks like a yellow spear. So adding the white for more of a \"shine\" would make it look a little more metallic. Other than that it looks pretty awesome!

Then again, it could just be that the rest of the spear isn\'t complete lol. i dunno i\'d say wait on that. and lets finish up the model and see what we could do from there!

I think the entire top will be NMM gold (if i can pull it off) and the rest will be something dark in order not to crowd the mini with colors. maybe black, I will be done within the next couple days as I am through all the hard parts i think (hopefully :D)

OK, I decided to go dark with the rest of the staff so it doesnt compete with the rest of the mini. So i went with a subtle marble effect.

Still trying to work out what I should do with the tubing. Not quite sure really yet. Im also thinking about making the studded grip gold as well. getting very close now, i hope it all comes together once he\'s on the base.
Comments welcome! thanks guys!

Just thunderously good work. How long would you estimate it took you to blend the green mask? Just curious.
