Ya the blade looks terrific! Great work! That little bit of white worked prefectly. I also like how the aparatus\' holding the wings turned out. Keep it up!

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

OK! finished the mini itself (except for the feet, forgot they were down there haha) and now all to do is the base! im thinking also about adding a few dark brown lines at the tips of the highest feathers so they arent just solid. what you think?

I am wanting to have a nice natural setting with a spiral of moss circling the base and ending at his feet. then have some little butterflies and what have you. they other option is on top of a rocky peek. not sure which to do yet though im leaning towards the first

Looking very nice so far. :) I especially like the combination of green cloack and brown leathers. One sugestion will be to use brown and green tones on the base to compliment the cloack and leathers and contrast with the NMM blade. If you go for a rocky and greyish base the blade won\'t stand out much.

OK! Finally finished! well, i still need to get rid of the undesired shiny finish (especially on the base) with some matte finish, Mount him and take some more proper photos, but all the major work is done. I made some butterflies out of wire and modelling leaves, I used bristels from a brush for the antennae. I am considering moving that bottom butterfly over to the other side of the base.

Awesome! Although your pics need to be white balanced and you need some close up shots.

Was the base just one piece of cork and how did you get that shape?

The painting a good. I like how the cloth turned out as well as the blade. The white point really helped the NMM in that area. The butterfly on the end of the weapon is a creative and fun little touch. Great work!

Thanks! I am happy with the results. I feel like i got better and thats what doing this mini was about.
Im not quite sure how to white balance in Gimp. I suppose ill have to fiddle around with it till i figure it out. any suggestions?

The base. well I am a slow and low southern style BBQ guy. So i buy wood chips for my smoker. often, peices of hard bark wiill be mixed in and you dont want those in your smoker (bitter taste) soI found a nice peice with the shape i wanted and a couple msaller peices to patch in the bad spots/ holes. The rest is milliput in the seems and so forth.
