WIP HE Chariot

Hi,

for some unknown reason I always liked this modell (except the beard of the lions) , while I don't like any of the other models.
This time (it's rare for me) I didn't want to use studio colors, but wanted something greenish.

this is where I am right now:

(since picture: moldline on paws removed, started correcting the mistakes on the skin)

But I bumped into the problem: which other color/colors should I use that goes well with this green and the yellowish color of the lions?
(on the lions, where it's black now, on the chariot, and on the 'drivers')

I have absolutely no idea, and while the highlighting/correcting the lions/chariot will keep me painting for the next few days, after that I don't know how to finish it.

so please help me with color ideas, and advice how could I make it better.

Thanks

Looks like you've got quite an Aztec feel starting there - maybe alternate your gold and a nice red for the trim of the "saddles" on the lions? Maybe google image search for Aztec art to get some more ideas?

Hi Max, not sure if I'm understanding well your needs (my poor english mostly works against me). Also I don't know exactly the model and way your heading with a paint - it's more on you I guess.
Anyway, at least I think I can give you quick hint on color choice. Whenever your not sure about a color and you already have some photo with your current work in progress - you can always use some photo editor to help you (Photoshop, Gimp, etc.) So .. just quick cover your area of "I'm not sure about color" with some basic color in different layer than picture - and use a function of your photo editor - usually named color range, color saturation ... whatever. It´s like 1 min work and you have interactive color tool in your hand - just by sliding cursor up and down till you are satisfied (bit more like seKzz :) ) - choose color you like :)
(I did it in photoshop - usually using ctrl+U or ctrl+B for "quick color ideas" and hard light mode on layer with color)
Something like this - but please don't take it as a recommended colors :) just to show you what I mean :

Well ... if I misunderstand your question ... just ignore my post please. I thought it might help you with your own color choices - but you probably know the trick anyway. Have a fun mate. P.

yep, thanks for the idea :)
somehow I always forget, that Photoshop can be used for things like that.

and for now I've been thinking about using a dark-golden color or just using black. no idea which one will win.
