WIP High Elves

Several months ago I posted some pics of a couple of High Elf spearman conversions I was working on.

I\'ve finally got some time to continue the project, so I thought I\'d post this pic of the third, hitherto unseen, spearman that I have now got painted.

He\'s looking good so far, I would try and shade the white a little more as the front part looks a little flat (arm looks good though)

I like the gold too :)

really tough to tell if the cloth is highlighted properly cause of the lighting. The way it\'s looking right now, it definately needs some more white highlightling like wilks said.

I like the color combination too, really makes the model come alive and jump out at you to look at all the different parts of the model and not to fixate your eye on one spot. Keep up the good work

Hey, thanks for getting back to me guys.

Yeah, the photography isn\'t too great, I just took a quick snapshot and loaded it up.

The white is actually more of a cream, but I agree with you; it needs one or two more layers of bleached bone/ white mix just to bring it out a bit more. It should hopefully contrast well with the darker colours of the cloak and gold armour too.

Here\'s some better pictures of the first elf, one of the other elves in the piece mid way through a paint job and the third elf pre-undercoat.

The robes will have to wait until I get some more paint, both my white and bleached bone have run out.

Heey! I remember these!
really cool work you have going on there, I love the poses

I just have one thing to say, some constructive critique! :D

I would suggest that you glaze those cloaks with a matt color, so the gloss in the recesses go away, I don\'t really think they should be there and it gives the mini a more realistic aproach, judging from the photos :)

Keep up the good work :)

Hey everyone, here\'s the latest pics of the three spearman, including one of how I invisage them arranged on the final piece, though they\'d be a little closer than the bases allow right now.

For the base, I had planned on having them standing on the edge of a cliff with waves crashing against it; but I\'m at a loss as to how to achieve this.

If anyone has some thoughts, or an alternative idea, I would very much appreciate it; as well as any points on the miniatures themselves.

The shadow areas on the white robe/skirt are way too dark. They look like brown stripes due to this. The lighter the initial tone/color of an object, the lighter the shadow. The darker the initial tone/color of an object, the darker the shadow.

The black outlining is getting a bit heavy.
