Thanks, yes I am quite satisfied with it.
I guess you are your own worst critic.

Next project will be a box of flamers!

Started up on the flamers.

Im thinking they dont all have to be in the exact same colour scheme.

Im thinking of one dark blue/blue, one blue/light blue and one blue/pink.
So far got base painting and wash done tried some more wet blending and hit some parts with some layering.

Any hints or tips are welcome!

Hello!

I finally have took some time and built up some motivation to work on my models and painting skills again.
I started on this Chaos sorcerer and thought i should paint his head blue to make him fit the tzeentch the,e and i think it works quite well.
Please if you have any comments on how to improve this dont hesitate to drop some feedback.

I have also put a little money into adding some light strips into a cheap IKEA display cabinet and i think it works way beyond expectation.

Images are a bit blurry taken through the glass but i think you get the point :curl-lip:

Finished the chaos sorcerer, the armour got a little to red from the glazing, looks kinda cool but im not certain i want to keep it like that.
I cant get a decent photo tonight for it but i picked up a new model to pain while om waiting for my AoW models to arrive.

Lets see what i can do with this.

Im thinking of a very dark blue metal armour with gold lining (or is it too close to a ultramarine?) or a dark metal armour with blue deitals to get the tzeentchish (spelling) feel.
Off to to the spray can before calling it tonight!

Depends. I think if you make it contrast-y with a navy blue to a bright "magic" blue (Teclis blue GW) it will differentiate it enough so he doesn't look like an evil ultrasmurf, but then you may run into problems with him looking like a Night Lord daemon. Really, I've always thought of Tzeentch stuff as having the majority blue and then orange and yellow flame colors to represent the chaotic "fires of magic" in the WH universes. The cracks in the sword offer a perfect opportunity for some of these fire colors in the form of lava. Also, remember since he is the chaos god of changes and mutation, don't feel limited to the traditional flesh or horn colors. Keep up the nice work! I'm jelly- wish I had such a nice display case.

Agreed, tzeentch is much blue and flames. however this dude does not have any flames. (I can try to make the runes in the blade orange flaming)
Im more thinking him as just the regular demon guy who has devoted his cause to Tzeentch so therefore he does not have to have like a blue skull as the sorcerer above.

Started to paint up the cloak in a blue colour but that must change if i do the armour blue also. or he will just be all blue, I want some contrast.

Considered a Metallic Blue paint for the armour? With those metallic, just need to highlight with silver and make the shadows have less metallic flecks showing, dark inks can dull them down.

That could free up "blue" for the cloak or might still be too much. A purple leaning more towards indigo than violet looks fancy and contrasts well with any golds around it.

The metallic i was thinking of is a standard metal colour with a blue glazing on top of it.
The golden framing of the armour works very well, thats why there are so many of them painted that way. :curl-lip:
Still not 100% sure in wich direction to go, I think ill start with making a metallic shine of the armour and just go for a little piece and see how it works out before going bananas and painting the entire model.

Hello again.

I spent a little time yesterday and manage to do a wet-blend on the horns that im actually quite satisfied with (im not giving up, i will learn) they are still unfinished though.
This is the start for the blue armour i was thinking about,(shoulder and half mid-section) basically metal colour with a blue wash over it, I applied 2 washes of blue and a spot of black wash in it. I will do it a couple of times more to bring it down a bit darker and bluer.

I think i ruined the face with too much paint and I'm not sure how to save it, applying more paint will just cover up the details right? Any advice here would be awesome!

The blue is getting bluer!
I added another glaze of blue on top of the metaland now it looks like I want it also the golden rims have been painted with a dark base gold and i will pick it up brighter.
What dou you think about the cloak should i go with blue (lighter) of course or should i think differently?

I also did a round of layering and drybrushing on the horns, I am satisfied with them, perhaps i should go over them a round more to pick and poke to enhance them a bit more but I'll leave them for now.

Time to get back to the brushes, have been away from CMON for quite some time but have been painting on and off with about 6 months between the models and never really finished anything.
Fate has it that i will be spending some more time at home on evenings and the hobby is golden as always. And i still have a lot to learn. I went and bought a new cool mini to paint and started off.

Comments, suggestions, critique and praise are welcome! :)

Not much to comment on yet though.
