Hi folks,

This isn't exactly Warhammer 40k, but...

More to come; I have to learn how to paint skin tones first. *goes to CMoN articles section*

Cheers!

Hi Torn blue sky. To be honest, I'm not sure where to get this mini. A friend's mom got it on eBay and he asked me to paint it for her. :) Any suggestions on GW paint for the skin? I only have Tallarn Flesh.

Cheers!

Just with Tallarn Flesh it's gonna be pretty hard, buy Elf Flesh and Dwarf Flesh. Browns are also very good to shade skins.

Yeah Tallarn is waaaay too dark. Sephiroths skin is almost porcelain like. You'll need lighter flesh tones. It's maaaaaybe possible by tweaking Tallarn a fair bit with white or Bleached bone. I'd seriously recommend getting elf flesh, it's a great mid pigment you can do pretty much anything with.

Mixing your own flesh tones Is a good method as well - it'll take longer but can produce much more realistic looking results.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sehpiroth is about 6 or 7 inches tall. I'm liking the idea of mixing my own flesh tones. What GW paint would you suggest? Bleached Bone or Graveyard Earth maybe?

Deffo Bleached bone. I actually use this while painting skin tones ;)
Try mixing that with the Tallarn. If it gets too pale and "pasty" try and bring it back a bit with a bit of brown, just a tiiiny bit!

Damn, i loved final fantasy 7, Just dont forget his eyes are an amazing green colour. Really want this now! Is it just the action figure.

Those should work. I just hate the pre mixed "skin tones" as they really don't look like skin at all. Too pink. When mixing, test the paint on your own skin to see how the color is matching up. This way you'll make it much more realistic looking. You can even mix various primary and/or secondary colors into your regular fleshtones to get them the way you want.

Update on Sephiroth:

My first time painting eyes. I'm not too happy, but I'll do better next time.

Thanks for the replies folks. :) Actually, there was no alteration done to the figure. It already was posed that way when I received it.

Cheers!
