WiP Space Marine - comments needed !

Well, I\'m not showing any of the space marine yet, just his backbanner. I made a freehand on it using the old space marine book as a reference. I could use some feedback : is it too light, dark, are there enough colours, any suggestions for possible improvement? - I really want this to be a very nice model so I\'m trying to get everything as good as I can :)

nice banner! yeh its not the best... but i cant even do a circle.... so its WAY better then i could do! :D keep it up!

Looking good so far I think the dark tones capture the feel of 40k and also the amount of detail you have put on such a small banner is very impressive. I like it :D

Wow that is a lot of detail that you have put onto the banner. I don\'t think that I would ever try to do that amount of freehand. Kuddoos to you! :D

That is the longest URL I have ever seen. Really nice work. A bit dark and it would be nice to see something to show the scale. Good stuff.

heh the scale reference could be useful indeed ;)

it\'s about 1.5 \" long I think, abit over 2 centimeter. I will measure it tomorrow :D

I\'m not sure if it\'s the lighting or your colour choice, but I\'d suggest a bit more in the line of light colours, just to give a bit more contrast to it. Based on what I can see of it, anyway.
Stellar work, otherwise, though.

well, to be exact it measures

1.18 inches or 3 centimeters by
0.91 inches or 2.2 centimeters.

I\'m going to add a bit more bright colours to it, but I\'ll wait to see what the finished space marine gives and then adjust it to match the banner and his colour scheme. but that won\'t be for another week or so ;-)

very ambitious..

I agree that maybe you need to bring up some contrast a bit more. But it is looking pretty incredible. You should be proud of yourself.

to fix the contrast look at the SM BF box again. the lightning bolts coming from the fist on the chestplate.

figures GW changed the box. now i cant even show you what i mean. but i am pretty sure you are using the previous battleforce bot for the standard.

there is lots of added contrast there that you could add just by making a few lines to emulate them.

have you also tried painting on the head of a pin yet?
