WIP: Stormblade with interior

It was some time ago since I last had an update here. Others have noticed this as well and one person in particular.
I\'m one of those guys who are lucky enough to have found a girl with similar interests and this was her way of telling me to get on my butt and get something done. lol

And a real update will come as soon as it stops being hectic at work... Which it did today so sometime soon I believe.

You know, the closest we have for this vehicle ALSO had a steep angle on its gun housing

The Jagdtiger was also never frontally penetrated by any allied weapon...so while conventional wisdom states you want a shell to reflect-apparently at some point it ceases to matter. I imagine the deciding factor would be how the guns mantlet helps shape the superstructure.

Great work so far :)

Also, putting a ton of metal in front also helps of course....

And the allies didnt have a lot of heavy anti armour until nearer the end of the war.

Kenny did not die(for once), I assure you. There has just been a moment of lack of commitment. Aaaand... There has been some other modeling done as well.

A long time ago I made a radar dish just for fun and this month I got the inspiration to continue on it. (plus, I realized I had the bits I needed lying around since I bought that land raider to get at the engine for my stormblade.)
So, after some modeling I had made myself my very own Damocles Rhino.

Ok, back to reality; the Stormblade.

I have made some rebuilds of the turret and now the armor plating is thicker and I have found a way to fasten it to the rest of the tank without actually gluing it to place. I have also changed the side the manhole is placed since after lowering the roof I had a lot more room to make the interior the way I wanted it to be(don\'t ask me how, please. lol)

The whole turret was fastened by simply snapping it into place using a hatch that pins it down at the back while the front part is locked into position using small plastic holders.

sorry about the dark picture.

I have also started making holes for future hatches and the \"lid\" for the cannon is under construction as well. The exterior is slowly starting to take shape now I believe...

Wicked work on the damocles, Id also say to throw a heap more longer ranger sensors, coms etc on it....

You bought a whole land raider just for the engine plate?

Ive got a stack of them, and the rhino inners if you want any more, I need more chassis :D

Wicked looking though, getting there mate.

Ill throw in some dish clothes I have laying about, and add another beer to that lol

Hmm, I started thinking about interiors the other day and through that, the crew. Now, I need a Techpriest to take care of all the finer parts of the machinae in this blessed vehicle. Question is, I have no idea what model to use as a base for my priest, anyone got any ideas?

Maybe Flagellants, Missionary or you can maybe take Imperial guard Techpriest and make something with him? ;)

Right now I\'d go for the wizard actually. I should have one lying around somewhere. The titan tech priest is a very nice model which I have thought of several times but I want to have it in a more intergrated pose, hence I need to do alot of repositioning and from experience I can say that that is not very fun when it comes to resin. I think its time to start looking through my bits after a package of wizards...

Oh, and yes. I did buy a whole Land raider to get at the engines. Hehe, People call me mad for it but the more bits, the merrier I am!
