So i received a letter through my karate teacher(Kyoshi Lord Utmost Amor El, who is a hall of fame inductee(twice)and was undefeated for over 20 years fighting.(basically he is one of the most influentiual martial artists today)Anyways, the letter said i qualified to go to Hawaii in october to try out for the USA 2008 Olympic Karate team.

Im pretty excited about that, i get to represent my county in the olympics if i place 1-3 in any events. Its pretty much a dream come true after 11years+ of martial arts experience(so far) and i wanted to share it with you guys.

so, maybe i wont get a golden demon, but, i might get an olympic gold metal, and my picture on the weaties box lol

My son just started karate and is all about the motivation and joy of it.
Congratulations what a wonderful opportunity.
I am sure you and your loved ones are beaming. Makes me happy to hear of your progress.
Your going to have to PYP so we can all go to the tryouts with you .

Congrats. Why would you even compare a gold medal to a golden Deamon.

Go for gold just watch out for us Ozzies.

Goodluck - and it\'s cool that karate is being put back into the olympics. So which events will they be dropping for 2008?

Screw a GD for even the opportunity of competing in the Olympics. The GD is only a fake gold resin statue anyway.

Here\'s hoping you get a spot, mate. :)

In fact 2 of the people I do kickboxing with are representing UK in TKD :)
