It\'s the vains on the underside of the wings that caught my attention (after I took a second look at the model ;))

That sword is ON FIRE. Just curious, did you do a herring bone pattern with your brush strokes on the neck? Whatever it is I like it.

This makes me want to paint one myself

I really like this a lot. The wing membranes, as pointed out by others, are excellent, probably the best painted wings I\'ve seen. Good work! :)

Just got back from vacation...no internet access for a whole weekend...yikes!!!

Many thanks for all of the comments!

@Frustrated Father: I\'ve been working on it on and off since February (I\'m not the fastest painter). I even knocked it off the table on to a concrete floor when I had just finished the torso  Let\'s just say that was a setback.

@Shawn R. L.: It\'s about 6 1/2\" tall and 10 1/2\" wide. It doesn\'t sound very large, but it looks impressively large next to the Warriors of Minas Tirith.
The pattern on the dark grey parts of it\'s skin is actually criss-crossed lines of Codex Grey. It wasn\'t too hard to do, and I was happy with the effect. I continued the pattern on the back of the torso and on the back of the thighs.
