Thank you!

I just pre-ordered Kingdom Death: Monster 1.5! My backlog is going to be unimaginable next year but I'm super excited as that's like my holy grail of miniature based board games. I missed out on the kickstarter because we were really strapped for cash at the time (waiting for our house to sell while renting an apartment at our new location) but I'm happy to pay the extra $50 for it now.

Dove headfirst into Myriam and I’m not really happy with how she’s turning out. I like the skin tone I ended up with but her eyes are super sloppy and I don’t like the red. I think I might try a more voodoo witch doctor vibe with her. Paint a skull on her face, maybe build some kind of magical aura or flame on her left hand. I love the sculpt but it needs something

Miriam will be the first hero I paint so I'm watching with interest. I think the red is looking good. Maybe add some interest with some patterns?

Yeah I'd thought about that too, that might be a good way to break up the red some. I might try washing it with a purple or something to give it a little more character too. I'm trying real hard to get away from starting over on things. I waste so much time doing that.

Definitely no need to restart...you have a great base to progress from. It's all about adding in detail now like the witch doctor style paint and markings. I think the eyes look good, very moody and tie in well with the style you adopted for the first minis.

Decide how how you want the red fabric to look, bright red and pristine or worn tatty and like it has been through a lot. The glowing fist idea is a nice one and may give you the chance to try some OSL.

Skin tones are great so far...keep going...things look good from over here

Looking great so far Withers. I do like the idea of a witch doctor, might need a few shrunken heads scattered about.

But it’s working well so far. The red is awesome.

I can't paint eyebrows to save my life. I've tried 3 times on this one already and I'm never happy with them. If anyone has a tutorial on eyebrow painting that would apply for 28mm minis I would love to learn!

Lol. I was reluctant to give the advice as I have the same problem. I think my eyebrows tend to look crappier than my effort at painting eyes.

Check out tutorials for eye brows from copic marker artists or makeup tutorials or even digital speed drawing tutorials on eyebrows - youtube should have a plethora. it will help you with placement and such on your little minis :) Always look at other styles or genres of art for little tips and tricks you can use in ours! Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybeline :lashes:

She’s bald so I’m thinking no matter what you do eyebrows will look at bit out of place... but if you do your gonna have to go really fine and keep a bit of that highlight on the top of the brow.. looking really good, can’t wait to see the finished product.

Well I attempted some dark eyebrows. They came out... ok. They're virtually invisible in person but they look pretty sloppy in pictures. I also completely butchered the bottom of the mini trying to get it off the base :( I'm thinking I may need to start doing that before I paint to avoid the pain of screwing it up afterwards.

Graz and Prug all finished too though I think I'm going to try to add some rust or blood to the axe. Looks way too sterile

Really nice clean painting Withers, as you say would be good to see you up things to the next stage with some more weathering on these.

Share the pain on the CMON minis...had the same issues extracting some of my zombicide minis from their bases...definately a pre paint job though.

These are definately going to look really good cluttering up your game board at some point.

Thanks! Yeah that's definitely where I need to go next. That and actually doing some basing. It's just hard to spend time doing a fancy base for board game minis that I know will just get beat up.

I finally finished Owen. I can't stand this sculpt so it took me a long time to finish. There must be 50 layers of paint on his armor. I tried NMM first but failed miserably at this because my recipe was awful. Then I tried TMM but it took forever to bring it down enough to look remotely realistic. I'm pretty happy with the result but my god it took forever. I also just noticed that I didn't paint the buckle on his shield strap.
