Thank you

********EDIT*****01/09/04*********

I took the advise to lighten the sash and here is the new mini http://www.coolminiornot.com/?id=41663 I would love some feedback on if this looks better than the other post.

Thanks for the help guys.

Face and hands look clean, but without very strong definition. The blue robes are nice, not a bad transition to the lower parts and the contrasting runes on the bottom and sleeves work well.
The yellow sash is a bit strong and needs to become a little but more pastel to make to appear to be cloth as opposed to the yellow as NMM gold on the hilt of the sword.
The hat looks a little blotchy, but all in all not a bad job.
Hope this helps.

since the yellow is light and the top of the robe where it meets the bottom of the sash is white, you may want to add some shading. Basically, the sash will cast a shadow on the robe, so either blackline or use dark blue.

The hat looks like it was painted blue and a wash was applied.

The big dark area on the hat looks blotchy because if you consider that the light is coming from the top, the lower portion of the concave surface would catch more light then the rest of the hat, which is more verticle.

...|....<---this bit mid-light
../...<---this bit catches the least light
..|....<---this bit catches mid light
..\\...<---this bit catches the most light
...|...<----this bit catches mid-light

you have

...|....<---this bit mid-light
../...<---this bit catches the least light
..|....<---this bit catches slightly more light
..\\...<---this bit catches slightly more light
...|...<----this bit catches mid-light

I hope that\'s clear. Basically, don\'t let washes tell you what to shade, tell the washes what to shade

you can add some depth and warmth to the miniature by shading the sash a little with brown. It looks overexposed.
