Hi every one, here is my version of Deney , as I dont like the ugly faceless head of the original model ,I replaced it with werner klocke\'s work from the model Brahyn, which is prefectly fit into Deney\'s posture also the wind on the skirts. The spear has also been changed with a metal rod and a part of necron lord\'s blade.
The main point of the painting idea is trying to create focus on the new head area, the contrast is based on two sets of colors :the skin and face are bright and light ,the armour and cloths are dark and depress. another contrast is the light source vs enviroment reflection ,the main light source is a light blue sky light from left top ,which generate cold reflection on the armour and the skirts ;the other side is a dark red/violet enviroment reflection from the earth and a green like atmosphere from the sky, cast red/green shade on the model. with these contrast and color setting I want to show a feeling about the charactor: although Deneghra is surounding by the darkness and undead sadness ,but inside she still keeps her human personality(before she got killed by her sister), under the helmet is the eager and rage as well as beauty from a young girl warcaster.
I didnt use NMM on the blade and the belt because my cryx army is using metallic color ,but I try to lower the shiny reflection from them in order to fit into the whole effect.
after all I think my model at least gives a sound reason for her Dark seduce/Influence spell now

below is the list of all the colors on the model ,which I should wirte it when I post, because that will also help me to remember till next time I do her pet (a big one)
most are from Vallejo, I will mark the GW ones individually
Face and Skin: White, Sky Blue, Violet Red, Dark Sea Green. I put sky blue into white for the cold highlight on front ,violet red and dark sea green with white for the shadow, violet with white for the reflection in shadow area. the eye bow and lips are also done by violet + white.
Hair: GW Blood Red, White, Sky Blue, Violet Red, Heavy Violet, Dark Blue. This is the focus of the model and I intend to make it like fluorescence, the warm GW Blood Red is for the base tone and the high light with Sky Blue will give it kind of fluore effect.
Armour: Heavy Violet, Sick Blue, Sky Blue, Dark Red, German Uniform, Dark Sea Green. I quite like the contrast from German Uniform and Dark Red which give me the depress and sad feeling just like the undead theme of cryx.
Skirts: German Uniform, Sky Blue, Dark Red, Chocol Brown. again the depress emotion.
Spear and Belt: Brass, GW washes Ogryn Flesh and Badab Black, Heavy Violet, Dark Red, GW Dark Angels Green and Goblin Green and Sunburst Yellow. as I said this is a compromise with other models in my cryx army, better off for NMM though.
base: Sky Blue, USA Tan-earth, Chocol Brown, Dark Red, German Uniform, Dark Sea Green ; GW washes Baal Red, Thraka Green, Leviathan Purple. it was after the most part of the painting was done ,so I can adjust the color let it be more fit to the charactor: the fornt part shows the cold highlight cause by the sky light , the mid part is for the warm red color of the earth(some purple washes to create the shadow from the charactor) ,the back part shows the green color atmosphere, and the same time create contrast with the red hair on the top.by the way the red washes in the crack on fornt is a metaphor of virgin, which I believe that Deney has always been....
