Wolfen WIP

Hey. I need your advice and comments for a wolfen i\'m working on. I put some pictures on my website here:

I\'m looking for comments on the skin.. what do you think of it? Too brown and red around the nose areas? Too dirty looking? Not enough contrast? Help! ???

Wow! Very impressive! You\'ve gone a long way in a short period of time with your models! :)
The fur is excellent and I like the way you subtly tinted the face/nose.
I suppose the green-yellow is still being worked on?
I want to see more of this! 8)

Looking great so far! My advice is to lighten up the front fur and inside legs to give it more contrast, try and accentuate the direction of growth of the fur by adding a few more layers of brush strokes. Also just tidy up the reddish tint around the lips, as it looks a bit uneven atm. :D

That fur is really awesome. That\'s what I was trying for with my last wolf, but I did not succeed. I will continue to try. You have done very nicely. Just amazing. I think the fur looks fine everywhere. I also think the red and brown about the nose is fine. Please finish quickly and post it. Put the link on this thread so we know where to look for it.

Jeez your name is a mouth full. Anyway, thanks. That was pretty helpful. I have never actually painted a Wolfen, just a wolf. But if I were going to paint a Rackham model it would be a wolfen. I\'m considering it.

It\'s still not finished, because I have exams coming up in a couple of weeks, and have been studying a lot.. but I did some more painting on it, and updated the WIP pictures.. if you want to see :)

Enjoy! I would LOVE some input on how to continue painting this mini, if you got any input! Especially, i have no clue how to finish the blade of the sword, as i have never done any big NMM before.. hehe, any tips?

@ Barkel - I know, just call me Kat, most people do. ;)

@Hakan - Looking great! I love what you have done with the armour, lovely mottled tones give it a really worn leather look. What I did for Agyar\'s sword was mix up various shades of greys and browns (you could uses similar colurs to the fur tones). keep them quite thin and stipple various shades onto the blade. Whilst the paint is still wet, with a fairly large damp brush, lightly blend the colours together. Use lighter shades towards the edges and where the light will reflect, again blending these in with the other greys as you go. Leave each layer to dry and gently build up the patterntion over time. This gives the sword a very weather beaten look and I have a feeling that this would work very nicely with your colour scheme.. I also added a bit of freehand to the blade to look like engraved garou lettering. If you are after a more silvery look, then have a look in the articles section for NMM tutorials. @Kat: Thanks. I\'ll do that kind of thing to the sword, i want it to look big, heavy and old and worn.. i think your described technique will work fine :) I\'m going to try to make it look a little blueish too though, but how that will work out in the end, i have no idea..

How come you changed the head on your Agyar model? The original head is pretty freaky, but i like it.. which head did you use?

Just checked out your wolfen WIP pics and I must say its looking great. Just can\'t believe how much you\'ve moved on since your first figure posted on CMON. Can\'t wait to see the finished figure - keep up the great work :D

I didn\'t like the \"Biggles\" style look to his goggles really, so I used the wolfen predator with two blades\' head instead. I think as a leader for wolves, having something that covers your eyes would be a big no no. :D

Dang, boy!!!!

Looks great!!! I love the look of the sheild and you reaaly got that \"heavy, old, worn\" look to the sword you said you wanted. Excellent work. Your wolfen doesn\'t look like every other wolfen out there and that\'s a good thing. Yours has its own distinctive feel (much like Kat\'s have their own unmistakeable look).

Way to go!
