Finished up a few of the projects I have been working on over the weekend. The pictures are not that great. At some point, I need to set up my real camera and take some good shots instead of using my iPhone.
This guy I finished at the beginning of the summer, but never based him. Partly because I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do, and also because I am not that good at basing. I was trying to make an ashy stone floor breaking up with fire and lava. I promise it looks better in person. View attachment 43093View attachment 43094View attachment 43095
I also finished up my Dwarf Champion. He was my first shot at NMM. I am still not sure if I am a fan of NMM on fantasy models, but I like the way he came out. Oh, and these pictures by far came out the worse. View attachment 43100View attachment 43101View attachment 43102
Been a couple of months since I have posted anything. Life has gotten incredibly busy and had to take a break. I have been trying to find time to paint again, but it is only a little here or there. Worked on this guy over the last month. Need to go back to touch of a couple of places. His face is as "clean" as I was hoping for, but I kind of like the old worn and haggard look it gives him.
Been working on this guy, but have been having trouble getting "feel" for things. Some parts come out great, and others just ehhh. Even if I do them in the same sitting. I am also not super into the model. That may be part of the problem.
I have been re-reading a bunch of my comic books, and started working on him while I was reading the Avengers Dark Reign story arc, so I ended up deciding to go with an Iron Patriot theme on him.
As always, thanks for looking and happy holidays to everyone.
You would think it being winter I would be able to get a lot of painting done. Haven't been able to sit down much, but I have nearly finished a couple of projects. This guy has taken up most of my time.
And I might as well throw this up here too. I am not that proud of him, I didn't really enjoy painting him, and the only reason he is even done is because I am stubborn.
And Finally, this is my latest work. I knocked this guy out in about 6 hours.... Love that airbrush. I had some free time a couple of weeks ago so I pulled him out of the box and just started painting. He was already assembled in the box and I was just looking for something to paint, so I didn't clean up mold lines or fill gaps. I still need some clean up work here and there and to make a proper base for him. All in all, I am really happy with how this guy showed up and at the very least should look really good on a gaming table at some point.
The big guy is from Helldorado and Davey Jones (as I have nicknamed him) is part of The Others game. I picked him up from the CMON booth at GenCon a couple of years ago as a promo figure.
Hey, woah, you got Pride from The Others already a couple years ago?? Damn, I did not know those were already out there! There's a load of wicked monsters in The Others, I'll be getting the full range (hopefully) this spring.
I decided to experiment on some old mini's with some different techniques. I have been experimenting with the "Loaded Brush" as well as some other blending techniques. The first I experimented on, did not come out so well.
The casting on this mini did not help either some details were very sharp and others were very muted. Half of her face was very flat. Being a smaller mini didn't help either. I had trouble telling where some areas started and others ended.
The next one came out better. Starting to get some of the blending to smooth out better. But still having trouble with areas where I want a sharp contrast.
