Wondering Where To Go With My Army

So I have about 2000 points of Witch Hunters, and the artist in me is getting a bit bored. I love the Kasrkin figs, but thirty of them is plenty for me. I really like the Captain Lysander model for the SMs, so I got the idea that it would be cool to have elements of the Imperial Fists\' 1st company as an allied army/ secondary army.

So far, my Fists have two squads of scouts, a squad of sternguard vets to form a retinue for Lysander (re-roll hits with special ammunition, oh yeah) ...and that\'s all I can think of. I like the idea of a 1st company army, so I\'m thinking of using only scouts for my troops choices, and filling out with Termis, sternguard and vanguard vets.

Is this playable? Any thoughts?

I think you would run into problems from lack of numbers, those are all great units, but really pricey

dedectated anti tank perhaps? an Ironclad or a rasorback may look good in your set up.

I\'d like to do more tanks, but a couple of things stop me. First, I\'m not ALLOWED to take Basilisks in a marine army, as cool as that would be...:twisted:

But I play a lot of cityfight, and tanks in our games really suffer from a lack of range and a proximity to krak grenades - not to mention a lack of room to move around. A Vindicator might be an option to explore, though.

Anyone else got an idea?

If you provide a list of what your existing army includes, then people may be able to come up woth some good suggestions, to fill any holes in the army we might see.

e.g Do you need more close assault troops, heavy firepower etc

Lysander and a terminator retinue totally kick ass though!

See, this is why I ask! So many choices!

Would it be better to put Lysander with an Assault Termi retinue, or put him with the Sternguard vets to ensure that his Bolter Drill gets the most punch with their special ammo?

So Far I have two scout squads, Sgt. Telion, a Sternguard vets squad and Lysander.

Why not try putting Lysander into a squad of normal terminators. I use him in conjunction with a ten man squad armed with stormbolters and two cyclones. Deepstrike him in using scout teleport homers and unleash a vast amount of anti infantry firepower on the turn they land. Twenty re-rolling stormbolter shots and four frag missiles wil cause serious hurt to pretty much any infantry squad in their gunsights. After that I have them wander about thumping tanks with their powerfists or anything else unlucky enough to come within arms reach.
