Hi all,

just getting back into the hobby after a good few year's absence, fuelled mainly by 11 year old son taking it up.

Another factor was that I always struggled with finding adequate room to paint in.

We moved to a new house in January which is much bigger than our previous house. The new house has a utility room (washing machine, sink, etc) and my better half has agreed that me and my son can use this as our hobby room.

Just have to get some worktop to go along one wall and then its all systems go!!!!

Just thought I'd share as I rather excited :)

As a 'hobby room' owner....I applaud you.

However, I notice I end up just storing my hobby stuff in my room, and I'll go paint, or assemble models elsewhere. I guess I don't want to isolate myself from the family that much. But if your boy will be in there with you...Fantastic!

Give us some pics when you get it all set up.

Thanks guys.

Likely to be a week or 2 before "work" commences but as soon as I'm up and running I'll post some pics!!

Congrats! A dedicated room can make a world of difference to productivity IME.

And 'grats on your son getting into the hobby too, always nice to hear of the next generation taking up the reins.

Yes agreed, a dedicated room is great!! I have set up my studio in the garage, tiled the floor, painted the walls shiny white and have seperate areas for sculpting and painting and plenty of storage, its fun getting set up and more relaxing working in a dedicated space rather than the kitchen table. Have fun when you are setting up yours!!!

This arrived today:

So I think I'll celebrate by making this my first "project" in my dedicated room :)

We need a new table for my family's gaming room. Once we get that my stepmother should be happy that 97% of the dinner table won't be used for minis anymore.

Of course, there is the downside that I will be the one who has to clean it and keep it tidy.

Always handy when you got somebody else to blame :)
