Wood Elves unit with best painting potential?

I really like the dryads, hate the yhetis. They both seem pretty hit or miss with people so probably neither would be high up on model choice.

Orion and his doggies look great though. It\'s got to be up there on the list of cool stuff.

I hate all these floating mini\'s that are comming out, the tree singers or whatever they\'re called are total crap IMO. As are Necron C\'Tans and the new Menoth chick. Lame x5.

cavalry is kinda hard to present on a unit base. Not much you can do exept open plane, or maybe coming out of the wood. But I\'m not a big fan of the mounted units.
Warhawk could be nice, but hard to do a unit base too.
And the waywatchers are really cool :p

even though not very fancy IMHO driads have huge potential. i think they`re one of the best sculpts among new wood elves range (most of others lack elven grace and swiftness, often have too short legs).
wardancers with their wacky poses could turn out great as well (especially when you order those mail order models).
i don`t like new warhawk riders - those \"surfing\" poses are IMHO plain dumb.
love the new horses but the riders :|~ ... maybe if you swap them with the old ones holding lances...

OT: thanks to the new wood elves i`ve realised how strong my mini addiction is :D . even though i`m not amazed by most of them i bought them :D

The female spellsinger with the staff is by far my favorite from this range, although I expect that this mini will be done to death in a very short time.

I think the dryads have some problems. At least I found it quite hard to do nice highlights with their texture being so \"shallow\" if you see what I mean. It might have been due to bad lights at my paint station but generally I prefer more traditional sculpts with well defined details. Also they don\'t allow for that many colors.

However I do like the look of them, it\'s just that they\'re hard to paint well IMO.

Most of the Wood Elves range is awful in my opinion, they look so modern and un-gothic/dark...

Have to agree with Petey - especially about the plastics. They are tosh, except the horses which are an improvement.

The Warhawk riders are rubbish too - the riders are poxy!

I think there are three models in the whole range I actually like.:(

I\'d say he\'s thinking of the 3 mages by Alex Hedstrom - he\'s a very decent sculptor.

Is it just me or does everything go dodgy when Colin Grayson/Gary Morley or Aly Morrison get involved?

And one of the new Wardancers that I can\'t find a pic of....:(

The rest do nowt for me at all. I put together a WarEagle thingy the other day, and it\'s a massive step backwards from the old ones for me. Really poor, especially the rider (and the cast quality - utter poop.):(

Found it!

Wardancer Lord:

For some reason they all seem quite Rackham-esque to me. Might be the movement of the cloth, dunno....
