Work In Progress

Hi there,

well, here it is the actual stage of my fimo-boy... is very hard to get the shadows to this color of fimo...hope in the final pics I can do better.

The legs still need work (shinbones and feet) the rest of the mini is nearly done, Finally I decided to leave him naked for the moment, and may be next time (If I learn to cast correctly) I would dress the copy (thanks Mark for your involuntary inspiration :D)

:Dhope you like it

No problem Edgar but I think different now.
If I cast up copies to dress then I will lose out on valuable practice.
So I think I will do each one seperate.

Photobucket is down so I will comment on your sculpt later:D

EDIT
Very nice Edgar.Only thing that looks off to me is his left shoulder muscle. There looks a big drop to the arm. This is probably anatomicaly correct but for the purpose of art I would build up the muscle joint a touch to smooth the transition out a bit.
I like the Obliques....I found them quite troublesome.
Face detail looks excellent.

@Mordred: I just started that figure and I must say I really like yours. The only problem is I can\'t seem to remember her name, so if you know it would be great if you would share with the class. The one I picked up was pretty badly cast so it\'s taking forever to get started, but maybe I\'ll put some picks up.

@Mark- mmmm may be yes... personally I like big shoulders and trapezes (IMO they give a powerfull looking..) but may be it is a bit big...may be removing a bit of fimo of the top of the shoulder (reducing the diameter), and smoothing the joint would work better :D, may be I\'ve exaggerated too much the contracction of the shoulder when the arm goes up.

I like the obliques and the face too...the face specially looks better in natural...but I\'m so bad taking photos...:(

Thnx:D

I\'m going to paint the horse with a light brown shade. I\'m not a big fan of that over-the-top-can\'t-see-what-is-but-it\'s-green-so-it-must-be-Nurgle thing you see very often with Nurgle model;)

Hi angus,
yes, I would like, but I still have to learn to cast better because I use to cast in resin, and I don\'t now how to eliminate the air bubbles, the resin I use catalyzes to fast and I don\'t have any centrifugal machine or similars to eliminate them.

It\'s coming along really nicely! :) The face is very good! You seem to have a knack for eyes. Can\'t really give you any new advice at this point, except repeating the tips I gave you earlier about highlighting the shoulders, collar and other areas that would reflect light coming from above the strongest.

BTW - I hate passwords. I did a plain dumb thing - I haven`t written password for my coppermine web gallery and now I can`t add new pics and access several already uploaded. :flame: got to find time to use some database editing software in the weekend....
for now i returned to old and trusty (???) photobucket :D

@sebrushworth - really nice face and skin, and the cloak ain\'t looking to shabby either. Very nice work, look forward to seeing her done!

@ergman - very nice sculpt, but I\'d be a bit put off if you forgot my genitalia......;) lol
I know you\'re not done, just poking a little fun, but really nice sculpt, reminds me of a superhero for some reason...

BTW, what do you folks think about starting a new WIP II thread and asking Finn to shut this one off. I don\'t know about you guys, but this thing take forever to load because of all the pics....its getting as bad as the PYP thread did.

Oh, that\'s why PYPII was started! I was wondering why there was a new one started and why there was a new WIP thread. I thought it would be interesting to keep them going and see how long they could get, but I have roadrunner so it isn\'t any slower for me. If it is getting slow, maybe we should start a new one.

Here is my project that I am hoping to come out of painter\'s block with (my last two attempts lie unfinished). It is sculpted by Juan Francisco González (a.k.a. El guardian), and is sold by Sacred Blade Miniatures. I have a question: what color should I paint the skin? At first I figured green, but purple might be fun. I have never seen one of these painted so I really can\'t copy anyone else\'s, like I normally do:D. Also, Juan said this about it in his submission,\"also note that it isnt muscles but Scales formations what he has on the chest, think it will be worth saying coz every one ask for it \" What color should I paint those?:D Thanks for any help!

To eliminate the air bubbles all you need is a pump ( not sure that\'s the right word) that can suck the air out of a box or somthing, that will suck out the air bubbles too. If you have an airbrush the compressor can be used the other way around I believe. Or you could do a quick search for this, I\'m pretty sure you\'ll find a good number of articles.

James, I reckon a pale turquoise-y colour, unless you want to paint him to look like Barney :D
