Wow, nice sculpt Medved :). For the next miniature chain, you\'re doing the conversion work ;).

This is what I\'ve been working on today:

It\'s going slowly but surely :).

i must say that i only did the bottom half of this mini. the top half is the forge world tank commisar. he really should be strutting the battlefield.........and he can now!

....oh and mad idea coming through.........given that we are doing these chain painting minis........why not do a chain sculpting mini, where we all chip in to create a green. then we could get somebody to cast it and all the people taking part could post their paint jobs. what do you think guys????

Klute - NICE! The skintones are amazing - what did you use there?

DM - very cool conversion, I like it. The goat horns are great - I look forward to seeing it finished!

I\'m in, and since I just sent a pack of green stuff to frenchkid, I\'m sure he\'ll be in for it if his exams and personal life give him enough time ;).

Maybe it could be the next CMON contest mini ... but then again, it wouldn\'t be very secret would it ;).

The Elluvari is a graveyard earth basecoat.Translucent layered up to elf flesh,I seem to be useing this technique with almost everything now, then highlighted with elf flesh/skull white, then pure skull white light sourceing(not much on skin, keep it subtle,by light sourcing I mean shine from say the sun.)
On white skin I tend to vary the base coat and take it up to elf flesh/skull white. The basecoat gives a good variance to the overall look.Elf flesh is my best friend.Graveyard gives a great realistic look. When I post the final pics theres a back shot of the hand holding the gun showing painted veins, done before the last layers of skintone were added, looks pretty good.:D

Well considering it\'s the first time I\'v laid hand oon green stuff it might not be a bad idea if I learned how to sculpt a bit first :p By the way small green stuff question, the blue stuff is for hardening right ? Just trying to see in what proportions I should mix the thing, I think it hardened a bit fast on my first try, so less blue right ???

Yes, the blue is the hardener. If you go for à 50/50 mix you\'ve got about 2 hours to do what you want with it.

You could always do the armature for the sculpt chain thing ;).

Sculpting chain? Cool idea. When I read that you needed somebody for the blades with the wolven figures I was dissapointed you just meant painting. :) More reactions in the other thread.

Yup, blue is the hardener though the name itself is a little misleading. It\'s the component that will activate the curing process. As to mixing: more yellow gives a softer putty that sticks better which is good for glueing and making details while more blue means a stiffer putty. Good for heavy drapery and smooth surfaces.

As to curing speed, different mixing ratios will not make that much of a difference. Depending on temperature and properties you need you\'ll have 1 to 2 hours to work.
Don\'t mix up too much putty when you start and work bit for bit. I actually speed up curing using a putty oven after each bit is done.

The 2 sculpts are awesome, i wish i\'ll have your skill with green stuff guys.

Thx for the comments and advice on my w.i.p. , please if you see something really wrong on the work let me know, i think it\'s the primary task of this thread to fix errors before posting and swap ideas.
My project btw is going on and when i was waiting for the green stuff to dry i started to think about the freehand on the banner.
Now i premit i\'m really bad at freehand and it toke some hours of sketches and drawings before to find something that is on my capabilities and quite cool beside the usual 8 -head star.
And that is what sorted out:

bannerk.jpg

The banner itself was made with plasticard as on the article by Imperial Forge on cmon, it works and many thanks to this guy for sharing his techs.
Comments and advice are very welcome thx.

Well Kudos to all here........this is a great thread, and here\'s my contribution:

prepaint1.jpg

prepaint2.jpg

obviously a Spyglass mini, with a resculpt of her hair - wanted more volume than the original.
The basework will be old and decaying stonework - have some ivy to put on the wall, and behind will be some overgrown grass.

Love to get feedback!

I finally manage to get a picture posted here. Anyway this guys been sitting on my bench for a while(since it was released) and I just lost inspiraton for it, i am happy with the skin tone, but anyone have any advice, especially on what colour for the imps and scales.

Well Brother Tom, the classic color for scales is green, but that don\'t will work good on your mini because you used greenish skintones, so maybe red will fit imo, i\'ll use reds and browns.

About the spyglass mini : what is your way to make ivy? usually i use flock but i \'m looking for some other method.

Last but not least, if wasn\'t clear, the lines on the banner arrows were intentionally non-geometrical.

Okay, this is a very early WIP shot of a wolfen...I\'m trying to paint individual areas together, like the head, then the body, and so on instead of painting all of the skin, all of the trim, etc.....The hair isn\'t painted yet, BTW.
Wolfen.jpg

Brother Tom, nice skin, maybe scorched brown to dark flesh then mixed with white would look good?

DM - I\'m going to try to use some Hudson and Allen Ivy - comes with some vinyl stuff that looks a lot like a scotchbrite pad, and some smaller leaves very similar to the forest litter that the CMON shop sells

Nelson; great start on the Wolfen - good colour choice!

You gonna do NMM or metallics ?

Definitely nmm...I\'m quite excited about trying some fun confrontationesque stuff on the blades. Le zenithal wasn\'t done as I had primed and based his skin over the summer, before I had tried zenithal. :)
