Working with brass etchings

I recently received some very nice brass etchings from FW. I have some that are tiny (for shoulder pads, and weapons) and large ones (for vehicles). My question is this: What is the best way to apply these to models? Will super glue suffice? Also, what do you use to remove them from the sprues?

super glue works fine mate.
a sharp knife is good for removing brass etching from it\'s sprue and then use a cery fine file to clean it.

Mine came out looking bad. Maybe I\'m doing something wrong. Or maybe I\'m not supposed to paint it.

You can paint them, I would suggest a clean with something a bit stronger than warm water and soap though.

I used some cheap oven cleaner, althought its a very mild one, seemed to work fine.

As for usage of them, big flat ones on vehicle flanks, smaller flat ones on things like dreadnoughts and land speeders etc, just pick somewhere that would face an enemy, the space marines being big on having an iconography face who they are shooting at.
