I\'ve been working on a Rackham Asgarh for 4 months now. I\'ve been busy with other things that I\'m working on. My tyranid army, a SM Veteren Squad, and a Inquisitor Lord. I\'m thinking of entering some of that stuff in GD next year.

again found some time to work on alahan archer

the pics haven`t turned out very well .
the leather parts are basically done and the blue parts are almost done too - got to smooth the blendings.

Bad pictures or not, it still looks sweet. Are you doing just that one or are you doing a group of them? I like especially his mask with the glow (?) from the eyes.

@Ritual: thx Anders . I`m painting only this one. But hey, I like it so much I`m thinking about alahan warband for myself (nooooo, i can`t resist temptation, just when i thought that 3 warbands are too much already), so it`s possible that you`ll see more of them in the future.

I`ll bore you with one another shot (you could see the glow around the eyes). Rather late I decided that I wish to cut the tab and pin the mini to the base instead. Fortunately i`ve avoided any unpleasant accidents during the process . Only a bit of paint around the feet chipped off. The model is still not glued - i prefer to paint it separately from base.
I`ve smoothed the blends on the greyblue parts but still haven`t decided whether to repaint gold parts on the chest. I feel I can do it better .

The pants, boots and mask is very good and this photo is much better than the last. The gold on the chest is too dark, I think, so I would put some more work on that. I always remove the tab from the minis regardless of how I\'m going to base them. I prefer pinning the mini to the base.

I wish I could show what I\'m working on, but it\'s for the Wyrd competition and needs to be secret.

I`d apreciate help on the brown hair as well. At the moment Idon`t have the idea how to make them.
Oh, one more thing - any idea what could i put on the centre of the base? i think it needs something there , but don`t know what can I do .

@Ritual: got to keep your entry secret ? well will wait till the deadline then...

 

[Ritual]

For the hair I suggest you use a mid-tone brown like GWs Bestial Brown or VMC Beige Brown for base coat. Wash with a dark brown and highlight using a light skintone. You can mix some white into the final highlights for extra shine if you like.

For the base, you could always add a tuft of grass in the nook between the large and the smaller cork tile. Or you could place a few smaller rocks surrounded by moss there. Perhaps a broken tree branch?

The rules of the Wyrd competition is quite like the rules of Chick Challenge, so entries must be anonymous. Well, I\'ll soon have a few other things to show here...

i was contemplating this...

wasn\'t sure if i should post something in the WIP (well, WIP II) thread...since incase I can\'t pull it off, it\'s like showcasing failure...but then again, considering how I did in university, I\'m used to it

so...here is something I\'ve been working on for the past couple weeks. Sadly, no where near as much time as I need to spend on it.

THis is the aluminum wireframe (with greenstuff blobs to hold some joins together) for my upcoming, Engine of the Gods (EotG)

For those who don\'t know...the EotG is a new model for the WH Lizardmen army (Red Host army list) BUT GW, in their cheap nature, are not making a model for it...instead, it\'s conversion only (although rules are fully official). So, instead of mods via a carnosaur or stegadon body (or even knarloc body) I decided to make mine unique.

This is my first sculpting attempt, so it is a big undertaking. What\'s worse is, I have something really special planned for this...so much so, that a friend will be helping me with the wiring/circuitry... (yes, i said wiring).

Anyways, I will post another shot next week sometime...need to finish wireframe and get base ready soon to give to my friend for the wiring work.

If it sucks...well, i\'ll post pics anyways to warn people before they get sucked into something without truly understand what they need to do

It\'s hard to say much, but it looks like a big first attempt at sculpting. Good luck! My first attempt was my last (well...for a while). The wiring/circuitry sounds intriguing, so I definitely look forward to seeing this progress. I can\'t really tell from the pics, so how big is it?

well....

as it is now with no wireframe head...it\'s 10 inches to the base of the tail..another few more to the tip of the tail.

If you make the tail straight..it\'s around 17 or so I think so with head..and putty will be a total length of like 19 inches probably....about 13 or 14 due to it\'s wrapped up pose.
