@Jakesh, All of those look like they\'re coming along very nicely. The yellow on the space marine looks very nice and vibrant. I love those old school space marines! :)

Great freehand Becca :). A little bit more highlights might be necessary IMHO, but the color scheme is great. So much more menacing than the classical GW one.

I have been asked on other forums so here is a size comparison next to both a marine and a dread for you all, have started to paint him although nothing has anything more than a basecoat thus far.

Here\'s my Darunian Renegade from Sacredblade Miniatures. Any tips on the skin and scales? Is it just me or does my NMM have too much contrast? It looks fake to me; oh well.

Edit* Oh yea; what is going on with his pants? he has like a sweater or something tied around his waist over his pants. Anyone know what it is???

That dread on the right looks really nice, but I feel it could be improved by raising the fist slightly and having the head look to the right instead of the left.

Thats a sweet mini, James. I look forward to seeing it done. Post him in the Discuss Submissions forum when you finish!

[edit]
By the way, I wanted to show off what I did tonight. Sadly, I\'m leaving for a trip in an hour and I\'ll be gone the whole weekend. I think he is looking pretty freaking awesome.

I think this sums him up pretty well:
*cues Beavis voice* MWWWWWAAAAAHHHHH!!! I\'M GONNA KICK YER ASS, BUNGHOLE!!!

@James9487, I think you\'ve put the highlights and shadows in the right place on the NMM, and think it looks pretty nice. The only thing I think is a bit wrong with the NMM is that it looks a bit rough, so you might want to work on the smoothness.

@JakeSh- Thanks, I will do that. Your guy is looking great. I love the face. It looks like you stippled paint on his head to represent a buzz cut? I think it looks cool. His beard could use a few highlights though. Also, his hands don\'t match the flesh on his face, but you might not have gotten there yet, so, I just wanted to point that out. The chainsaw looks sweet too!

Edit* Actually the beard looks good. More highlights would just be personal preference I think.

@sebrushwork- That is good to hear that I got the colors right. I will try to be more patient next time, and for now I\'ll do some washes or something to smooth it out.

@JakeSh - The yellow \"classic\" Marine looks really great, those were good models back then. You got the yellow really consistent, and not dirty-looking. The Hierophant looks just the way he should too - insane! The shaved head effect is really well done, as is the parchment scroll.

@Becca - your abilities are increasing day by day, it seems. That freehand is imaginitive and well-executed, and I think the overall colours on the model really suit it. See what happens when you paint more instead of just posting? ;)

Ok , first hi, second its really nice to see my mini painted at last :) i think im the most indicated person to answer that hehe. imagine him as havind trousers and a shirt (kind off) and then something breaks his shirt and it just hangs from the trousers i hope that makes sense, or just imagine it as separete pice of cloth put there just for decoration (that would be very near to the real purpose lol)

I just added another model on my to paint list. This time it\'s my first WFB model, a Chaos Undived Champion. I really need some Ideas for the base.

Hey, thanks El Guardian, I guess you\'d be the man to know! That is what it looked like. I guess I will paint it a different shade of brown; I\'ll have to think about it though. Great sculpt! It has a lot of character and is very original. This is the mini that inspired me enough to come out of painter\'s block, so thanks.:)

Here is it\'s progress as of ten minutes ago. I smoothed the NMM out a little with some washes of Vallejo Model color intermediate blue, painted the pants and the bracelet.

Conversion of a plastic marine into a company champion. The \"snout\" was taken from a brettonian knights helm, the legs were re-postitioned, and the sword arm from the commander sprue with the hand clipped and re-positioned. The tabbard (i think thats what it is... the cloth between his legs) was made with milliput and its the first time ive managed to pull off thin cloth. Id appreciate some ideas for the base as I really didnt know what to do bar stand him on some slate. Still some more painting to do.

Thanks all!

The model is very dynamic, I think the helmet is a nice touch with the new \"roman\" themed style GW has given the space marines, the tabard is especialy well done.

As far as the base and looking at the models pose, perhaps a more slanted upward bast would look better, looking at the pose and heigh of the base, it doesnt look right being flat, since he is running and \"swooping\" with his blade...he would have to climb up it and then run which isnt possible...so yea maybe a large base slanted up would really enhance the great pose you have going, just a suggestion.

A lot of interesting and cool stuff going on in this thread as usual! keep it up all :)

Not posted myself for a while, lately I\'ve been working on this skink warchief. Over the past few months I\'ve been lumbered with Space Marines a lot, so this is making a very welcome change. Wonderful sculpt and is really a pleasure to paint!

@James, the NMM is looking really nice, good work! :)

@Itchy, I love it! Reminds me of my favorite Battletech mech, the Wildcat :)

@Stef, The skin on that skink is looking really nice. Very cool sculpt as well.

I keep being impressed by everything on this thread. Wish I could paint half as well as you guys :)

@StarFyre - i\'m just hoping that i\'ll someday finish THIS titan. But there are plenty of resources (including the Forge World instruction manual for putting the real one together) on the internet and eBay. Feed your creative side!
@stef686 - Your blue is amazing!
@james9487 - The NMM blade does look awesome... it always looks great when the shades are opposing eachother like that, but when i look at an unpainted mini, i just don\'t see it. Any advise?
@sebrushworth - Just get to posting... they\'ll help you improve your mini. Posting in here really is the fastest way to improve.

*EDIT*
Sebrushworth... yous be too modest! Just went to your minis and they\'re really good! You\'ll be well into the hundreds (which i hope to sneak into when nobody\'s looking some day). Post WIPs!

Thanks guys, I tend to be painting blue a lot lately!

Itchy - That titan is looking impressive!

James - Like the NMM on that.....lizard thing :S hehe.

Here is my skink now, its almost finished, just the base really, although the photo has shown me that the gold needs a bit more in the way of shading.
